It's really hard to avoid the siren call of The Sims.

Oh thank God, I'm not the only one who thinks these things. We're bad comic moms.VeryCuddlyCornpone wrote:especially when all my comic characters live together in a neighborhood so playing them is just like workign on my comic right??????MariaAndMichelle wrote:It's really hard to avoid the siren call of The Sims.![]()

So I haven't even taken a pen to paper in weeks. I don't think I'm ready to start sketching the next scene yet but what I might take some time to do is just to panel out the next handful of scenes so I can kind of just "pick them up" when I get to them and not have to start from the ground up. Maybe it will help preserve momentum when going from scene to scene.

Every little bit helps I suppose.VeryCuddlyCornpone wrote:So I haven't even taken a pen to paper in weeks. I'm seriously considering going to A3 pages for LTD but then I wouldn't be able to draw at work (might be a bit too much to get away with), as it is I'm having issues of not leaving enough space for the speech bubbles.

Re: How are you doing, comic-wise?
An update. Every once in a while this person would read another page or two, and all the other days were just full of the above happening, except instead of the page I linked, it was whatever page they were up to instead. Just really slowly making their way through the first 2.5 chapters of my comic.VeryCuddlyCornpone wrote:This isn't really anything, it's just... curious...
According to my Clicky stats, someone in Norway comes to my site fairly regularly and just looks at this one page. It's a very old page, there's nothing sexy going on, it's not particularly funny. Some days it happens more than once. I wonder if it's just a glitch in the stats? The only other thing I could think of is that someone mistakenly bookmarked/has set their homepage as a mediocre page from my comic.
Alternate theory is someone ships dom-Tony/sub-Leon but I think glitch is more likely
Anyway, today they finished reading the whole rest of the comic.

Thank you, Norway, whoever you are. Hope you enjoyed it.

I've updated this week for the first time in 20 months. What a waste of cash on webhosting.
But I've been busy having super-adventures and all, so it kind of has a karmic balance to it.

Re: How are you doing, comic-wise?
Just finished making some changes to the WP site:
- Made an archives page (per Terotrous' suggestion) with five categories: Text Reviews, Video Reviews, Articles, Interrogations (interviews), Truth (joke news posts)
- Moved "Search by Rating" functionality to the new archives page
- Changed the title of the old "Police Archives" gadget to "Browse by Date"
- Removed Project Wonderful ads
- Changed commenting to "Registered only" because of annoying Anonymous spammers
- Changed "Terrorist Watch List" to "America's Most Wanted" to make it clearer that it's a "most popular posts" list
- Changed the popular posts to just reflect traffic from the past 30 days instead of all time
- Changed home page posts from 18 to 14
- Updated two banners and made a new headquarters image:
-- Homestuck Banner
-- TMNT Banner
-- Headquarters
To-do list:
- Add genre filters to the archives page
- Add links and scores from other review sites to the archives page
- Add a police theme to the reviews (per Terotrous' suggestion)
- Add a reviewer bio box to the reviews
- ...review something, I guess...
Ideas/suggestions welcome (as long as they don't suck).

Re: How are you doing, comic-wise?
I have begun the quest towards making enough off of comics to buy a pizza and beer. I set up a project wonderful adbox at the top of my page.
Also back to updating Sack of Oranges a bit more than I did before. I'm aiming to update it at least once ever 1.5-2 weeks.

Re: How are you doing, comic-wise?
When I post tonight's page I'll be a whole nine pages into the reworked comic....yay me!
The first five pages were stand alone "jokes" and now I'm on a short storyline.
I'm thinking I'll keep up a mix of 1-2 page gags and short (about 10 pages) storylines with looser continuity than previous efforts.
And I'm back to updating FT after a few weeks of life-induced lethargy.
