How are you doing, comic-wise?

Don't let readers be your motivation. I'm one of your readers, and I will continue to be one of your readers no matter how slow things go. Anyone in your audience who ever claims that you have some kind of obligation to them (and they exist and they will spill pixels writing essays to justify this position) should be politely escorted to the room full of hungry alligators and locked inside.

Do the comic for you, because you like the story and its worth telling. Then each update is an satisfaction of its own instead of something you did to please others. Because their pleasure is a poor salve in tough times like this.

Thanks, both of you. I really admire the people who can continue to update like clockwork even in the face of adversities and tragedies (though maybe some of them have a buffer, that helps, lol), and there's been times in my life where drawing my comic felt like the only stability I had, where if something shitty was happening I could escape to that. And on the one hand I'm still doing that, I'm thinking a lot about upcoming stories (had a "brilliant" idea last night when I was doing some cleaning) and doing extracurricular doodles and sketches, but whenever I sit down to actually work on the pages is when my work momentum kind of just stops.

Sort, the piece I underlined in what you said particularly rings true. Each time I've sat down to draw official comics I have this cloud that forms over me of "You're not going to have fun working on this page right now." And I've learned to be very reverent of that cloud. I used to try to push through it but now I know from experience that if I'm not enjoying a page, I end up half- no, quarter-assing it, and then I look back on it later to see a sad, obviously shat out page, and I should have just saved myself the ink and paper by waiting until I was in better creative spirits.

While any well-adjusted adult will tell you alcohol is not the answer, I bought two bottles of wine yesterday, so hopefully I can ease myself back into the waters of getting shit done by engaging in some drunk drawing later.

(It didn't help much that I got the notification today on project wonderful that due to low performance, my ad box is in danger of being delisted. I KNOW I'VE HAD LESS READERS LATELY!! IT'S BECAUSE I PAUSED UPDATING AND HALTED ALL MY ADVERTISING! You needn't rub salt in the wound!!

I've also kinda put my comic on hold until What Lies Beyond is done. This editing is taking too long and needs to get finished up.

I've discovered Ren'Py, and see potential in it to make some sort of interactive visual novel/ motion comic hybrid. Since I will be taking the next year off from studio classes, I might actually have the time and creative motivation to do something with it. I need to find a creative outlet that's actually fun for me, because making art over the last couple of years has felt like a real bummer for me.

I'll definitely have to check that out, don't think I could use it for any of my actual novels but I think I could try and make a little side-story or game.

I'm planning to take a break in about six weeks when I finish the first part of Flying Tigers just so I can sort out the writing for the next part - made changes during the webcomic stage that I need to adapt properly now.

Hey, with what you've been through, whatever motivates you to go back to 'normalcy' is totally ~~wine~~ ~~vine~~ fine. There're few pleasures like drunk drawing, cheers!

In this case, you delete all the infected pages from the root directory, reupload them, and change the password.

If someone finds out the password to your anus, you've gotta get that shit changed as soon as possible. They could really do a lot of damage in there.

I have about five pages in varying stages of completion. I wish I could kick myself in gear to get one more done and up before I go visiting my friend for a few days but it's not really seeming like it's gonna happen. I've had a lot of fun working on the pages so far, too, and I think they're gonna be enjoyable. I'm just still trying to shake whatever bugbear has been hounding me the past month or so. I'll get there.
