A lot of the cookout time was spent on the forums and drawing sketches even back in the day. Too bad we don't have the party games. It's not quite a cookout, but hopefully better than nothing.
I feel like the LiveDraws are covering the "meetup" aspect well enough for now. This just ain't the CG of yesteryear no more where a real-life thing would be feasible. Probably the most realistic option in that sense would be to coordinate something based around a large comic convention.

Woo-hoo! I'm glad you finally got it to work right considering that it seems to have been a headache for you to set up.

We used to have two cats, an old black and white tuxedo cat Joey and a seven year old gray and white tuxedo cat Minnie. They were the best of friends. I have never seen two nonhuman, non-relative animals so perfectly and harmoniously in love with one another.
Last September we had to put Minnie down because she had a tumor that fucked up her head and she couldn't eat anymore. It was really sad. Joey was absolutely devastated for a long time.
Prior to Minnie dying, Joey used to come and sleep on my bed from time to time. He wouldn't always stay the whole night, maybe just for while I had the light on and was reading, and then when I rolled over to sleep he'd leave- kind of like parents do with little kids, lol.
Well since she died, he hasn't come up to stay with me on my bed. During the first months after Minnie passed, he mostly stayed around with my mom (since I was at work and out of the house most of the time) so he'd sleep in my parents' room instead. I don't think he even came into my room more than a handful of times over the months since then.
Well in late April we adopted Emma, our 2 year old tortoiseshell calico tabby type thing. She's adorable and crazy and I *think* she and Joey like each other but she's just so young and crazy that it's hard for them to jam, you know? she keeps tackling him and trying to play but he's so old and arthritic he can't really "play" back and usually just ends up trying to escape and "run" out of the room. Since we adopted her, Emma usually stays in my bedroom during the night until I kick her out for being annoying.
WELL
WELL
TONIGHT JOEY CAME IN
and i picked him up and helped him onto my bed
and he's stayed there. he's been there for like two hours and he's just chillin there real happy
and she's been on and off the bed too
I HAVE BOTH CATS AT THE SAME TIME.
This is a karmic reward for something but I don't knkow what. I feel so damn happy about these cats you guys.
Don't kid yourself, friend. I still know how.

My new site actually has followers. And some of them seem to be real people too.
Right now it's just a bare bones wordpress site (because apparently you have to pay to make any real changes) and not really ready for public consumption, mostly just my mini-art a day posts so far, but it's encouraging nonetheless.
And my group certificate should come in the next few days, so I can do my tax and no longer be too broke to get stuff done.

I'm relieved to see I'm not the only one who does that. It's like the forum equivalent of reviewing all of the pictures you're tagged in on Facebook or something.
