I haven't updated Spaceprincess in years.
I don't really feel the need or desire to work on them anymore. should I stop pretending to be a webcomic artist?
Do whatever makes you happy.

It'd be a pity to have no more QCS but you shouldn't force yourself, I decided to stop webcomicking and focus on writing (and drawing a little) and it's satisfying for me.

Ain't nuthin' wrong with taking a hiatus if aren't feeling it. You can't exactly force inspiration.

Same. Go on a Ross and Rachel break. If you want to start up again someday, you always can. <3

You've got the order wrong. The minute you stop making the comics is when you've stopped being a webcomic artist and started pretending to be one. I've been pretending to be a webcomic artist for over half a decade now.

VeryCuddlyCornpone wrote:This is a big part of why I'm content having my comics on the web as opposed to in print (despite every jack of all trades I meet telling me I "really have a lot of talent" and should "do something with [my] art and get it published"). If I did a print comic, what am I gonna do? Include a pre-paid envelope in the back so that the reader can write an essay to me about how they felt once they're done reading? Why go to all that trouble when having my work online makes it ABSURDLY easy for people to leave the simplest comments to the most thorough feedback?
This is an interesting way to look at it. I've been pondering over the issue of publishing as my secret project nears release. I've always intended to release it online, though sometimes I wonder whether or not it's good enough that I should actually be shopping it around a bit first. Ultimately though, I didn't start doing this to make money, what I wanted was to accomplish something I could be proud of. And maybe get fangirls. But I'll settle for the pride thing.

I have a question... you have comics, so you might help. This site says 'no game sprites' in the rules for comics- but what about Pokémon X? That uses pokémon sprites, which is what I had intended to use... I am confused.

I have a question;
I'm new, and the rules say no game-based sprites in comics (which is what I was planning on doing) but what about Pokemon X? IS that a typo that wasnt corrected or something???

I think sprite comics are technically illegal, and CG could technically get sued by Nintendo over it, but I've never heard of anyone actually getting in trouble for making a sprite comic. And you're right; now that you mention it, it's kind of stupid that CG has this big "no sprites allowed" thing when the main webcomic on the site's a sprite comic.

CG has policy against sprite comics that use sprites that aren't comic author's property because it could get them into legal problem. It's easy for an individual to say that there won't be legal troubles because there weren't any so far, but for a company that tries to stay in business and has employees that depend on it, this seems like a completely necessary risk.
As I understand, Another reason for this policy was to decrease a number of godawful trashy sprite comics whose authors never put any thought into them, numbers of which were such that they affected CG's performance. So while this may not be the fairest reason for prohibiting something, it's still a rational one from the standpoint of site's staff and all those people who put some work in their comics.

it's kind of stupid that CG has this big "no sprites allowed" thing when the main webcomic on the site's a sprite comic.

Pokemon X is certainly a typo that needs correcting

I'm pretty sure Pokemon X predates that rule; it certainly predates that rule being placed prominently on the signup page. I guess nobody bothered to apply the rules retroactively and remove it.

CG has a rule against sprite comics? AWESOME.

Seriously don't do a sprite comic, or if you do, use sprites that you made yourself. It will be 125% more better, and I have some knowledge on this subject.

What a tragedy Nintendo has wrought upon us.

Now that i think about it, Pokemon X is probably getting a big influx of traffic from people googling for Pokemon x and Y.

Working on the tavern fight scene for ToP. Boy, action scenes are a pain sometimes, but so worth the work.

I was skimming through some old Freedom Fries pages, and I realized that a few of 'em had early versions of stuff in Freakboy Did a Bad Thing. So, I felt like making a little compilation out of it. (Plus, "then vs. now" images are always fun, right?)

Smiling faces in the backgrounds

Guards/orderlies (the new image is from tomorrow's page)

Everybody laughing at Freakboy (I remembered this one)

Obviously, it's a little weird that I'm doing the same exact shit seven years later, but it's got me drawing comics again, so I'm alright with it.

Yeah, that comic's been around forever. It was at the top of the list when I was on CGen, I remember. That and that one Hellsing fancomic.

My ability to draw correct looking anatomy seems to be proportional to how much alcohol I've had. :shifty:

So it's gonna be like that, is it, right brain hemisphere.
