I'm dressing up as someone with the flu! Oh wait.. I HAVE the flu. This little dragon isn't going to go out in the cold, cold night air. Maybe I'll put on my gigantic dragon mask later, just to get in the spirit of things.
Oh! One of my best friends has a birthday today! Born on Halloween. Ray Bradbury's favorite holiday. Pretty cool, eh?
-Wish

I'm decked out as Indiana Jones, because this is the first year I've had the leather jacket to go with the fedora, bullwhip, boots, shirt, pants, and carrying pouch.
No gun, though.

I went to work as a warlock today (tunic, cloak, staff). My brother, who does NOT work where I do, shaved his head and grew a goatee while I was not paying attention, and came to visit me dressed as me.
It was stunning. Wow. My co-workers were amazed.
--Howard

I'm dressed up, but only because that means I can get into my anime club's Halloween party free.
Actually, my costume barely qualifies as one. I'm going as my character in the live-action Werewolf game I play, and he dresses more or less the same as me but with a cool belt and a walking stick. It was a last minute thing.

Riff doesn't wear a trenchcoat. Do you mean a tailcoat?
At least you're not doing his last costume. Those are impossible to find -- you've got to make them yourself.
I almost wore my Frank costume today but wimped out with the excuse of not having any clown white left for my makeup job. I ended up with the safe, conservative old-fashioned star trek getup. Not even an interesting species like the Gorn or the Tribbles, just an ordinary mostly-humanoid Andorian. I guess it's a nice tie-in with tonight's episode (which I'll be missing -- it's opening/closing night for our big show. At least we expect to make it past the overture. In your face, Erixon! ).
Maccabee, genuine Starfleet officer (retired)
------------------

Pretty sure he means Riff from SLUGGY FREELANCE, not Riff from THE ROCKY HORROR PICTURE SHOW...
(And BOY have my posts been getting dry, lately...)

I feel very silly not picking up on the Bun-Bun thing.
"Boy, is my face navy!" says the embarassed Andorian.
Maccabee
"My people are a violent race, but we had no quarrel with the fat stinking corpse, may he freeze in hell forever <spit spit>"
-- What the Andorian ambassador was really thinking in "Journey to Babel"

Hehe, I'm dressed up now, here in class. (Illicit internet use, shhh!)
I look like Death :-) Well, almost. I'm saving the makeup & wig for my evening class. Then it will be literally Hallowe'en!
I've only seen one other person dressed up here so far (a cute pink pixie), but my friend in the evening class said he was going to dress up, and my other friend was going to wear her fangs, so I suppose that's something. One friend of mine is in a class where the teacher is giving extra credit to anyone who comes in costume! Lucky lucky.
If I only had some skull earrings, I could be Alisin, but I don't. So I can't. Ah, well . . .
{here ends long rambly post}
*Penny

It gets better - come back!) and one of the players arrived a bit late, took a bit of time to drop his stuff, and went down to take his place against his opponent - only to find his place already taken and his game underway.
Seating in his seat was another player who had come disguised as him.
It was about five minutes before play could properly resume, since the real player had to stop laughing after his initial shock.
Well, I hope that helped a little. I'm not only not dressed up, but didn't even remember it was Halloween until I was about 5 mins from work! And then my only concern was if that was the date I needed to get some paperwork in or not.
Of late it seems that holidays, even the ones I get time off for, aren't that important anymore. They just change the plans one has to make. Not much "fun", I'll admit.
Nullset out.
[This message has been edited by Nullset (edited 10-31-2001).]
