How are you doing, comic-wise?
Re: How are you doing, comic-wise?
Nearing the end of the second chapter of my comic, almost finished with pencils and inks of the next chapter, but I lost Photoshop and have no way to color or letter my new pages. I might have to post a backup story until I can get that problem resolved.
Also, I just posted a blog giving my thoughts on the profitability of webcomics. I'm eager to see what everyone thinks of what i have to say, and whether they agree with it or not.
I'm having a hard time mastering the business of maintaining a webcomic, and I poured my frustrations into my blog.
I'd really appreciate it if you could check out what I have to say at http://theseizurecomic.com and let me know what you think, especially if you are a successful webcomic creator. Thanks!

My editors have been dragging their heels getting back to me. But I will release a comic in 2012. Oh yes.
Also got three scripts in various states of completion that will hopefully become drawing before Kim Jong Un gets overthrown in a military coup.

Also, think I'm going into the business of selling prints. I'm told this is more lucrative than webcomickry. We'll see.

Don't think I'll ever get back into it... Once I realized comics are not an easy way to money and fame they lost all appeal, man.
I guess reality TV is my only option.

I realized while lettering some comics today that I haven't drawn any new pages since august. I'm not ready to say I'm done but I don't see how I'm going to keep them going.

Dunno that reality show stereotype... maybe it's from that new "Failed artists world" show on Fox?

It's been
THREE WEEKS SINCE YOU LOOKED AT MEEEeEeEee
or rather since I updated my comic
I was doing so well for a while there, too. And I have updates lined up, I just need to like, finish them. I've had a lot of new readers around this time, too, unfortunately, and it's giving them a bad (though really not that misleading) impression about my update schedule

Re: How are you doing, comic-wise?
I am finally back to a regular posting schedule (knock wood) after a lot of things just completely messing with my time.
But the way I'm doing the comics now is sooo time consuming.
I used to do each comic on a single page but now I'm drawing each frame individually on an A4 sheet, it's allowing for more detail but jeez it takes some time.
Okay I'm done with the whining.
Side note I've been tinkering with some character re-designs for SHR, I'll post them later maybe.

Re: How are you doing, comic-wise?
So I finally added facebook comments and a like button to Flying Tigers - will do the same for Ride the Wind after I update the site design.
And I just spent so long trying to link to the nsfw version of today's comic that I probably should have just left it where it was (but I was reminded my 14 year old cousin reads my stuff). Can't believe how many times I had to redo the code because I missed or added a symbol or random letter *face palm*.
Oh well I think it plays better with the nudity covered anyway.
Now back to the drawing board - literally - I've got pages to draw and I've slacked off enough today.

Re: How are you doing, comic-wise?
I feel like a party crasher, comin' in here to brag instead of being fretful... but I'm a do it anyway.
AMG U GUISE. SO RAD.
... OK I'm done bragging.
I think working with someone else on the comic helps keep everything on schedule, tbh. My brother draws it so he's always hassling me for scripts. I approve his lineart and speech bubbles before he colours, so I'm always hassling him for pages. Keeps us both honest! It seems to work 'cause we've been posting 2 comics a week since November. It's a bit ridiculous how excited we are about the comic - it's pretty much all we talk about now, when we get together. At least the rest of the family puts up with it.
I am sorry about the lost copics. I think those are pens... right? I am always sad when I can't find my BIC.

Re: How are you doing, comic-wise?
I'm stalled for the moment. I'm off work this week which normally means I can get a load of pages done but I'm a little bit bored with this chapter's progression. I slowed chapters pace down quite a bit and now I just want to get on to when the crazy fun stuff happens. I should probably just edit the coming comics to speed the pace up.
Re: How are you doing, comic-wise?
I really need to get around to starting my next strip. It's a good one, but I haven't been able to get into the right mood to start drawing it yet.

Ok, so that makes me wonder if average comic updates drop in January due to the January Blues. Probably.Terotrous wrote:I really need to get around to starting my next strip. It's a good one, but I haven't been able to get into the right mood to start drawing it yet.

My updates wouldn't be dropping if I wasn't moving this week. :/
Oh well, at least it's an house.

Good luck on the move! Always nice to get into a bigger place - until you fill that place up too.

Re: How are you doing, comic-wise?
Going through my archive because I've been told, and have subsequently realized for myself, that there are some pacing issues, especially in chapters where I was stringing out lots of short pages instead of fewer longer pages, making it really annoying to read through chapters because you have to do more clicking than necessary and it slows down the pace of the story. So I'm going to combine a whole shitton of pages and reduce my pagecount which will hopefully inspire more people to read the hwole archive, and even combine some of the middle chapters because I can.
