Leftovers - Fry or MicroWave them?
I prefer to fry them when I have the time. I only MicroWave if I really have to.

Microwave. If something is going to be fried, it is because it was cooked that way. I never fry something to reheat.

Kinda depends on what you're reheating.

I"m a huge fan of stir frying, but it depends on the effort I want to put in to something. And, as has been mentioned, frying doesn't work for everything.

Leftovers?
If it's something like pizza, a toaster oven works quite well. Microwaves seem to make leftover slices spongy.

ie: soup. Not very practical to fry soup.MixedMyth wrote:I"m a huge fan of stir frying, but it depends on the effort I want to put in to something. And, as has been mentioned, frying doesn't work for everything.
Sometimes it makes separate pieces of food stick to eachother. Like salami for example!Fading Aura wrote:If it's something like pizza, a toaster oven works quite well. Microwaves seem to make leftover slices spongy.

Not unless you wanted to turn that soup into a sauce for something, which could actually work out quite well, particularly for creamier soups.
Whenever I stir fry, I use olive oil. It's amazing how it really brings out the flavors. Mmmm....

I avoid microwave so frying. Soup's the easiest thing to reheat ever, just add a cup of water and cook it for a minute. Pizza is never reheated because it's great cold too.

If I have leftover potatoes, I chop them up and fry them with some canned corned beef to make a hash.
I also never reheat pizza since it tends to make the crust really soggy.

Reheating pizza in the oven helps to aleviate the soggy crust curse, at least in my experience. you have to jimmy around with it until you find a satisfactory means.

I recently found Coconut Oil at my place so I've been using that. It's great! I can taste coconut in every bite!MixedMyth wrote:Not unless you wanted to turn that soup into a sauce for something, which could actually work out quite well, particularly for creamier soups.

Aw man, my brother will eat pizza straight off the fridge. I find that disgusting!McDuffies wrote:I avoid microwave so frying. Soup's the easiest thing to reheat ever, just add a cup of water and cook it for a minute. Pizza is never reheated because it's great cold too.

Eeegh. Coconut oil has a metric fuckton of fat that I can't have. It's the bad kind, too. Shame, since I like macaroons...but there you go.spoonyliger wrote: I recently found Coconut Oil at my place so I've been using that. It's great! I can taste coconut in every bite!

Reheating meat in the oven is usually ok. Also if I have cold sauce I won't reheat it at all, I'll just cook new pasta. Seriously half of my food is reheated, who has time to cook every day.VeryCuddlyCornpone wrote:Reheating pizza in the oven helps to aleviate the soggy crust curse, at least in my experience. you have to jimmy around with it until you find a satisfactory means.

Actually, if reanimation is an option, I'll choose that.

Re: Leftovers - Fry or MicroWave them?
My microwave broke two weeks ago and it was horrible!!! We bought a microwave within two days. I never ever want to be without a microwave again.
I microwave everything--- everything except my thanksgiving turkey. I had an aunt once that microwaved her thanksgiving turkey, and it was fowl.

I always wanted to try a solar oven. They use sunlight and reflectors to bake things. Apparently they work quite well! Providing you have some sun, anyhow.

bubble and squeak, by definition is leftovers you fry. primarily leftover spuds and assorted veggies from a roast dinner.Laemkral wrote:Microwave. If something is going to be fried, it is because it was cooked that way. I never fry something to reheat.

We don't think we've ever fried leftovers.
Depending on what the leftovers are, either microwave, stove top, or toaster oven.

You should try it! I've used one and it really works. There are directions on line. They are easy to make with some cardboard, shiny foil and plastic wrap.MixedMyth wrote:I always wanted to try a solar oven. They use sunlight and reflectors to bake things.
