The only one that comes to mind is that someone once thought that naming a fast food place Satan Burger was meant as an attack on the fast food industry, when I really just thought it would make a good name for a fast food place in Hell.

Also, (though it's only ever come up once), I worry that most people will pronounce Kame's name wrong.

You have to be careful with using friends like that in your comic. Even if you're best friends with them now, what will happen if you ever have a falling out in the future? You wouldn't want them to come back and make trouble for you because they had a cameo. That's what happened to me. In my "Girl's Night Out" serial from a few years ago, I have a few of my friends in it but unfortunately, in the time since, I had a falling out with one of them. If I ever want to reprint it anywhere, I'm going to have to redo some panels he appears in and "digitally erase" him out of the story. Now, I'd just as soon not use friends in any of my cartoons.

I wouldn't worry- the way I draw it would be considered "Parody" and fair use.

Haha, that reminds me of an artist who had to erase from her comic her ex boyfriend together with three kids that she drew them.

Many years ago I was drawing a comic that my ex WROTE. (based on my concept and characters) I can never revisit it unless I rewrite the whole thing from scratch.

At least in my case, I don't think I have to redraw the entire comic, just the panel he appears in - and to that end, I think he only appears in two or three panels. I can do the old cut-and-paste job or even alter his appearance altogether, but it's still a pain in the ass.

I had a roommate who couldn't stop smiling. This made it very hard to use him in my photo comic, so I threatened to put a bag over his head. His performance improved drastically after that, mainly because I DID in fact put a bag over his head.

If we ever got famous on accident, we were gonna have him sell autographed paper bags at cons. Sketches would be done with a Polaroid camera.
