You can thank Star Wars for all of this, by the way.
say what you will about George Lucas, he made one REALLY GOOD financial decision.

Count Chocula

Today one of my roommates bought a pirated copy of "New Moon" just to antagonize me with its presence. I am torn between allowing it to continue existing because it IS pirated, but it is ALSO Twilight-related and must be destroyed.

I fear I shall need to purge it with fire.

What is it about this innocent little cultural phenomenon that inspires such blind hatred and vitriol amongst otherwise sane people?

I mean, for me it's shoving Robert Pattison and Kristen Stewart in front of the camera and then not allowing them to have hot premarital sex but I feel it's something more for most people.

I just don't like how certain parents have latched onto these books because of their abstinence message, while completely ignoring how unhealthy and often abusive a relationship model they portray. Apparently it's fine if your daughter's boyfriend confines her to her home, has his family keep tabs on her when she's out, and doesn't let her see her friends, 'For her own good,' just as long as they don't have sex before they get married (the second she turns 18.)
