Furries.... :-?
Wait, replacing keenime with a furry forum? What is even the hell?!?

How about a spiky hair forum? Wait, that's redundant. Elf forum?
Dunno... furry is something that potentially a lot of people would be interested in. Not that anime isn't something many people like, but if it's been inactive for so many years, maybe it's time to try out something different. Doesn't have to be furry, may be anything.
(I'd prefere music subforum, but we just lost about one fifth of people interested in that now that Senshi's left.)

I was kidding, but actually I don't think there need to be any "genre" forums. If people really want to talk about a given genre, they can always talk in the forum of their favorite comic(s) in that genre. A music forum makes more sense in that way, but less sense in that we can barely keep up one music topic, let alone a whole forum.

Yeah, niche forums tend to suffer unless there's a really, really big community. Especially considering how lonely General Discussion was.

Get with the program, furry is the new anime. Why, in 5 years who knows where it will go!

A furry subforum would be desolate except for JIm posting Sally Acorn drawings every day.

See now, all sorts of fun to be had!

. . . y'know, I seem to remember this thread supposedly being about being mad about the change going on around here, not about trying to instill even more change, but who really wants to trust my horrible Swiss cheese memory? Not me, that's for damn sure.

Truth be told, it's a sign of the times where the two most 'active' forums here had to be merged because of lagging traffic, it's actually quite telling. is it a sign that comicgen is slowing down from what it was back in, say '03 back in the days of keenspace? or is it just a sign that the webcomics community in general is just spread way too thin across a myriad of hosts.. truth be told i'm inclined to think the latter, but the former also carries some weight in its own right.

well there /is/ Inuyasha

an art forum in general may be a more reasonable direction to look in, however, which covers a more broader range of topics, like the doodles thread, Jams, even music threads. this may also lend to constructive critique threads and whatnot for people wanting to improve, or just masochistic enough to have the everloving snot heckled out of them by the peanut gallery. :P

It may be quiet, yes, but it may keep interest up in the jams, and keep them from dropping off the face of the first page due to General discussion topics popping up like acne on a teenager.

Hey, I'm masochist! That'll be a great idea!
No, really. I'm sick of this whole other forum heckling me. I want to at least try a different place.

i'm not mad about the change, but I am mad about something else.

Yeahduff, I'm looking at you about this, among others, cause it just happened. When you post on the forum the address should be http://forums.comicgenesis.com not http://forums.keenspace.com, or http://forums2.comicgenesis.com or http://forums.comicgen.com. When you respond to one of those it uses that address to notify everyone who's watching the topic. I don't know why Kelly hasn't destroyed those other things, but he hasn't, and people keep responding to it and I keep getting notifications and lead me to login because it's not technically on the correct forum.

I'm mad as hell, and I'm not going to take it anymore.

Well, really I have no choice but to take it, but still, it fills me with rage!

I guess that explains why I occasionally have to re-login when I come to a thread through email.

And while were at it, I super-mega-robo-angry that there is no breadcrumbs or "<return to 'whatever forum'" at the top of pages, you have to scroll all the way to the bottom to get to them. THAT SHOULD NOT BEEEEEEE!
