Re: The Unhappy Thread
a friend of mine from Gordon died in his sleep on Father's Day. he just didn't wake up. he was only 20, and he's dead. and his dad is battling cancer on top of this.

Re: The Unhappy Thread
Sorry to hear that, Cyndi. =(
I've gotta get out of this town. I was pretty happy those couple days in Chicago, so when I came back here it just made everything seem that much worse. (I'm used to it again by now, but still...) xP

Re: The Unhappy Thread
Everyone forgot about poor Farrah Fawcett in the Michael Jackson hype.
People die every day. It's sucky. Sometimes it's natural, but often it's because of terrible circumstances. I think we ought to worry about the people that are forgettable than the celebrities.

Re: The Unhappy Thread
I agree, but let's not undermine the grief of those who have lost those celebrities, either. I think we need to honor ALL the people we lose--not just the famous ones, and not just the comparatively forgettable ones.
I, too, was frustrated that Michael Jackson died on the same day as Farrah Fawcett. that really bothered me. ignoring the fact that I had been a big, BIG fan of MJ for seven years since 1995, and that his death affected me directly as a result, I really was peeved that he died on the same day as she did, ESPECIALLY since she died a long, slow and agonizing death, whereas he died relatively quickly.
but my god, it's been a horrible, HORRIBLE month.
I lost two people that I loved dearly, and three people that I had admiration for, and the three people I admired all died from cancer, and I HATE CANCER SO BAD. *GRR*
at least Chris died in his sleep, and at least Michael died quickly. Ed McMahon, that doctor who did her mastectomy in Antarctica and Farrah all had to suffer and die slowly.

Re: The Unhappy Thread
*hugs*
I'm just generally unhappy at the moment, and I've figured out that there's nothing I can do in this town to make it better. That's the root of things; I thought I'd be farther along in my life than I am at the moment; I've put it on hold for jobs, guys, etc...and I don't want to do it anymore. Just need to figure out where I'm going now, and how, and when...

Not entirely sure what's going on right now...Scott just went off on a tizzy about the air conditioning (I was just messing with him half the time anyway, but he's drunk) and Jim kicked him out for the night, then he came back to say he's leaving. So...no clue.

I like this idea. I have things too, but the last thing I want to do is think about them tonight. it makes me want to crumble, and I don't really feel like crumbling.
