Dad is coming up to Toronto because he's thinking of moving the family up since he's sick of Malta, so he's here for a week to see schools and houses.
My uberhomophobe Dad booked himself into a hotel on Church Street. I found out last night, and I laughed
And laughed
And laughed
He's been really worried about it ever since I told him what goes on there

Inherited a dorm size fridge from my next door neighbor who's moving out - he graduated and is moving into something MUCH cheaper. As much as I love to put the fridge upstairs in the office area, gonna sell it. Need the $$$.
Baby news: @ Tristan's 4 month check up; he's weighing in at 15lb, 14oz. He's 25.5 inches long. His head is 16.5 inches around. He's happy, healthy, chatty, and very active - trying to help me type while sitting on my lap.

You should sabotage his bath, so he'll have to go to a bathhouse.Killbert-Robby wrote:Dad is coming up to Toronto because he's thinking of moving the family up since he's sick of Malta, so he's here for a week to see schools and houses.

Better yet, you should convince him that Canadians don't really add "Ay?" to the end of their sentences, and that it's been co-opted to mean "I'm available for anal sex." on Church Street and other areas he's likely to go to.
Canadians are so damn friendly, they'll be propositioning him all the time he's there, ay?
Random Canadian: "Need some help, ay?"
Robby's Dad: "I DON'T WANT YOUR ANAL SEX!"
Random Canadian: "... Chill out, ay?"
Robby's Dad: "KEEP AWAY FROM MY BUTT!"
Random Canadian: "Damn Yankee."
Robby's Dad: "I'm from Malta!"
Random Canadian: "Malta, ay?"
Robby's Dad: "AAAGGGHHH NOOOOOOOO!"

Re: Livejournal-style Whining Thread 2.0
Screw Dad and his gay hookup lodge, THIS OWNS
Ok ok ok
So
I show up, meet a buddy, and on my way to check in I'm all like
YEAH I'M HERE, LETS JUST HOPE I HAVE A ROOM
I lold then
Went to desk
I'M HERE TO MOVE IN
Move.... in?
They cancelled my stay because there was a misunderstanding about me moving out and coming back
I was kinda pissed at first, but right now, I have a two person hotel room
TO MY SELF
Free TP, free towels, free sheets
I'm supposed to move out, but so were my buddies who moved in a month ago, AND THEY'RE STILL THERE
So I'm hoping if I'm careful, and pay my bills by wire, I might be able to stay here. I mean, as you can tell, paperwork isn't these guys' strong point. Keep the DO NOT DISTURB sign on the door, only let in maids while I'm not around, I cut my towel cleaning and tp buying and shampoo and soap living costs.
Either way, you know, for the weekend I have a hotel room all to myself

I got attacked by...a clock. Yes, a clock. Moving boxes in the 'attic' trying to find a few particular items. Reached to grab a box and forgot that it had stuff on TOP of it. Bang! busted the hell out of my upper lip. Nasty cut outside and inside.

Nope, gotta wait another week because the other platoons can't get their shit in order. It's not like I might want to plan ahead for personal airfare or other travel costs...

It's the other two platoon sergeants. MINE got it all done the instant we learned of the "packet of doom" that needs to be filled out. Every Soldier, right then, right there. The others it seems wait until that Soldier's month comes up. Lesson: A lot of work now means less work later.
Yes, there's fuck-ups in the Army. This is not new news. The military is rife with people who can't get their shit straight, goldbrick, sham, slack, are ate up from the floor up, tore up, and generally are not quality individuals. We've practically got our own language on how to describe them.
Anyways, I can wait a week. My package from Think Geek arrived so I've got Lolcat poetry magnets to play with, a solar powered glowing mason jar, and my own 1-Up Mushroom farm going. I'm even looking into purchasing a mini-fridge and some more collapsible shelves to make my room extra nice.

Re: Livejournal-style Whining Thread 2.0
I'm down in Vancouver for a semester doing some coursework for teacher training, and I don't get to see my husband for four months. I'm starting to get. . . antsy. I'm worried that it's going to make my guy friends uncomfortable.
Re: Livejournal-style Whining Thread 2.0
So I lost out on my 4.0 by one class that I got a B in....and by some shifty points I must say, but I don't feel like going into it. He verbally mislead me in vague enough terms that there is nothing I can do about it save maybe challenge the grade on the grounds of mental anguish because of all I've been through this semester, but that is way too much work and would only cause me more mental anguish.
I'll simply bow out gracefully with my 3.85 for the semester and take my 3.78 cumulative gpa.
Yes it's still good but I really wanted that 4.0 once it looked like I was gonna get it.
oh well semester over, husband graduates tomorrow, and in 10 days I'll be in Disney World.

Re: Livejournal-style Whining Thread 2.0
Congrats to your husband graduating, MV. Being done with college is great.
Speak of the devil, i'm still employed! Lovely :| I have an internship with Orphans International http://www.oiww.org which is amazing and it's really cool that Linda, the chick in charge of it, still remembers me a year later, but like...it's in NYC and totally unpaid. It's a UN affiliated organization and that's great, but it's not paying, and I'm broke. I'm not sure if I should take it. I would rather work in DC and be working for min. wage, but ugh, idk what i'm gonna do. I have to give her an answer in like...a week.
I'm just freaking out because I emailed her today, just cuz I had nothing else to do, and she like....emailed me back in 20 minutes like "sure, you can come! start june 1st! bye" O_O Decisions!
I just want a job T_T Is that so hard to get, seriously?
