# 2 now, behind Gaspirtz, who is widely believed to be cheating somehow (but no one actually knows if that's the case)But then, the results from the first day aren't all that reliable. Elf Life, for example, is normally a strong contender in the list, and should start kicking our butt any time now.------------------

So even if not as many people are impressed as would have been if the Funny Papers list had linked directly to the front page and everyone had seen the much better stuff there, enough people still are exploring the site after coming from the special page.And fp1.html, the previous special page, is also in the recent referrer list.------------------

I think those comics are good attention-grabbers, which is why you're getting the hits.
In fact I think (I differ from Geir here) if it linked directly to the front page, people might be put off, as coming into the middle of an ongoing storyline can be very puzzling.
So the little comics are doing the ten-second work, then people come to check out the rest.------------------

I've been considering this very thing. I've decided that I will follow on both your suggestions... after the campaign has run its course. Like the captioned strips, this is sort of an experiment, and you don't change the procedure halfway through.------------------

I still don't have proper access to the Keen Webaliser (one of the few things that are still broken after the server move), but the referrals of my Nedstat counter show that people are exploring the site, and many of them are coming in from the Funny Papers.So keep voting! It's working!------------------

In the light of the changing situation on the list (i.e. most of the clicks out seem to be coming from Gaspirtz) I have changed the banner image after all. If that brings in more people, I might even switch to a version of the 'Off With Her Head' button...------------------

Can't tell... logs are still broken.Netstat reports healthy front page visitor numbers, which would translate to being back to November, 2001 levels. That was my best month so far. December was weak, January disastrous.------------------
