Well...The dust seems to have settled over the Keenspace server situation. I've had the opportunity to vent a little (OK, a lot) and while that probably wasn't the most dignified thing for me to do, it has been cathartic. Feeling much better now.I've just uploaded material for the "Campaign of Love 2002", in which you, readers, get the opportunity to show me you care, that my spirits may be raised further. In addition to the donations, you'll be invited to vote for me in the Funny Papers Top 100 (hopefully gaining me more readers) and participate in ROCR.net by sending fan art, poems, fiction, and what not. Could be fun.In any case, vote already! I'd really like the "Love Campaign" banner to become visible on the site because it's so unlike anything else shown there. I'm making arrangements so there'll be a new Voter Incentive on February 1, when the Funny Papers chart resets. But we have been catching up really well, and I think we could just about take over # 10 this month.------------------

Made the change, but I can't tell if and when it's going to be processed. Another fix: put the image in the root location where the link says it is.------------------

Hmmm... The FunnyPages counter reset, but it also seems to be stuck. It's still at zero even after dutiful clicking by yours truly. And ROCR is now ranked in place 107...

....and suddenly, the FunnyPages became unstuck. ROCR jumped in on the top 10 list with two votes, and the guy in the number one position jumped 100 votes in the blink of an eye. Ah well. It's all about the craft.

Unwanted advice:
-How about substituting the more dramatic "standard" link art for the "love campaign" one? I mean, we all know what draws in the masses. (Dramatic scowls and pointed hats, I mean.)
-Although it's fun to see the bonus comic, I'd really want the new visitors to jump directly to ROCR in it's present-day splendor. If they're anything like me, when I'm browsing a new comic out of idle curiousity it has exactly ten seconds to prove it's interesting enough for seriously checking out. An introductory text and a bonus comic aimed at alreay loyal fans just may just keep someone from using those crucial extra minutes to get to know the product.

Or I may be completely off target. As usual.
