First reaction: Wha? Weh? GRAH! Scene change! BRYNN SMASH!
Second reaction: Whoo! Millennium!
What I'm personally hoping for is for a few loose ends to be tied up about Schrodinger. I want that catboy to get his comeuppance NOW! But going the Hellsing actual-plot route, that probably won't happen. Oh well, I can dream.
On the other hand, some Anderson fight scenes would be nice too, even if Alucard is unavailable to jump in.

Re: Bringing Nazi Back
...This has never happened before, but in this comic all I could focus on was Enrico's flowing blond hair. Damn you and your hair, Father Maxwell, for distracting me from the Alucard buzz I've had from the last few comics.
Also, do you think this will have anything to do with the Vatican's involvement in World War II? (Well, purposeful lack of involvement, but it's the same thing)

The story you're about to hear is true. And by true I mean false. It's all lies. But they're entertaining lies, and in the end isn't that the real truth?Kazokuhouou wrote:But Enricoooooooooooo, you tell me all your stories are true!
The answer... is no.

Hmm.... a Rippy appearance to appease Xuanwu?

Hee, Rippy in psycho mode! I wonder if that's a reference to how Rippy (as Alucard's familiar/lover) who sets up Enrico's death.

Re: Bringing Nazi Back
Hm, interesting thing about what Maxwell says is that Hellsing actually isn't much better than the Nazi regime. Integra is using a soul-eating monstrosity who has eaten the souls of tens of thousands of people (some even suggest hundreds) as a weapon, and in the London battle she actually let him go out and eat all the Souls in London.
Now I don't know if Hellsing Canon has got an afterlife, but Alucard eating (and later internally killing off!) hordes of souls of mostly innocent people is just as bad as death-camps. ...only less discriminating.
Ladies and Gentlemen, there you have it, Godwin's Law.

Tsh. and people ask me why I don't feel any sympathy for Alucard and Integra.

Re: Bringing Nazi Back
Hm. I'm just gonna sift my fingers through the sand of ideas here or a second and see if I can't find some differences between Hellsing and the Nazis... and some similarities, to be fair. By the way, if it feels like I'm being too rough on the organization as a whole, just replace "Hellsing" with "Alucard".
Similarities:
* Hellsing kills vampires - and anyone who impedes their mission - to make the world a better place for the rest of us. the Nazis killed those they believed made society imperfect to make a better world.
* Alucard gathers followers - willingly or otherwise - to help him when things are too tough for one person to handle. Hitler did the same thing with the Nazis - some were recruited, some were forced into it.
* Although she's been shown to have moral qualms with it, Integra will not change the orders she gives Alucard just so she can protect humans. Anyone who stops them, alive or undead, is fair game. Same deal with the Nazis.
Differences:
* Hellsing isn't aiming for world domination - they just want to rid the world of monsters.
* Integra was forced to use Alucard to attack her uncle; Hitler was not forced to attack Poland.
* Alucard (the closest comparison to Hitler in Hellsing) doesn't want his species to take over the world; in fact, he knows exactly how stupid that idea is. All he wants is a distraction, or better yet, his own death.
* I'm not entirely sure how Hitler was about keeping his subordinates alive, but somehow I can't imagine him or any other Nazi doing for their comrade what integra did for Seras in Volume 1.
As a final note, if you ask me, Iscariot is much more similar to the Nazis than Hellsing. Just an observation.

Re: Bringing Nazi Back
SOMEONE doesn't remember their cartoon lore. That one guy that took over from Cobra Commander was created using the genetic code of several of Earth's most evil historical military leaders, including Vlad the Impaler. In short, that dude was Alucard's bastard son.SwordKing wrote:I'm not certain, but I don't think COBRA ever tried using vampires either. /random G.I. Re: Bringing Nazi Back
I believe you're right there, though the individuals (humans) in London would probably be better of with Iscariot wining, so that makes them the lesser of two evils in the story.Brynnie-chan wrote:As a final note, if you ask me, Iscariot is much more similar to the Nazis than Hellsing. If Iscariot had nukes they probably wouldn't have any qualms about putting them to use though, and that would have put them a lot closer to Hellsing in terms of willingness and ability to do evil to reach their goals. ...still, nukes don't eat peoples' souls, London's people would still probably be better of if the military stopped hesitating and blew London into oblivion. Even if just spiritually so.
Still, Iscariot is probably more similar to te Nazis, only they would likely try force a convert-or-die scenario instead of trying to kill a major class of people... and a bit later the United States along with pretty much the rest of Europe would likely go in there and kick Iscariot out... Iscariot fanatics go down without silver bullets, and their battle tactics doesn't look like they would work well against modern armed forces, seeing as the people from (let's say...) France won't come in there with soldiers in neat rows and exchanger bullets, but rather those soldiers will sneak in using covert tactics to take 'em out.

Erin... I hate to nitpick... but there's something you've screwed-up on. Luke's eyes are supposed to be green, not red. Just wanted to tell you this.
Oh... and btw... love the plug about the micro-loans. Wish I could contribute.
