Looking for your criticism

Post by Stark »

Hey folks,
Brand new here but I thought I share some of my latest "work", what I'm interested in would be your criticism.
I know I'm not brilliant (lol) nor will I ever become, I have been drawing Comics since the age of 10 (on and off of course) I had the most busiest time
around the time when I was 19-20 and since a couple of years since other hobbies mostly Weightlifting and Hiking and getting married of course :D became dominantly my past time drawing was really on the backburner.
however I'm back and I've done some drawings and I would love to know what you guys think of them... honest, if they are shit tell me so ;)

Drawings have been done on a Wacom Tablet, (I love'em) in Photoshop CS3 (I'm still battling with Illustrator)
Drawing was done for a boss of mine who was looking to draw a cartoon for a guy who was leaving the company and had big ears ;)
So I think I get back into it :)

Let it rip :)

Some good work there; your cartoons are funny and you have a well-developed style. My only suggestion is that you do a little more to distinguish the various objects; I lost your people amidst all the other lines. Cross-hatching, cell-shading--whatever works :)

thank you very much for the good advice, have you ever drawn on a tablet? If not man I can only recommend it to you.

oh yeah, a tablet's the only thing I use now! scanning's just too much of a hassle, though I actually find it easier to control pencils and pens.

I have completly switched to Tablet only, it's amazing what you can do in Illustrator and Photoshop, sketching and general layout of my short clips are easy as well.

If I might make a technical suggestion, monochrome images should NEVER be so large in size. Try reducing the colour depth to monochrome or 256 color and save the image size and bandwidth for people who might get impatient waiting for it to load.
