But what if he tries his darndest to avoid them, thus causing him to avoid being eaten, but jumping the shark in the process?MixedMyth wrote:Hogan wrote:The Dark, Vampires and sharks... I am still close to a Phobia for the latter

I was terrified of balloons. Even now, if someone comes near me with a balloon, my natural response is to punch them in the face and run.

KNIGHTMARE. The skull that represented the kid's life going into pieces and then the eyes flying at you.

Oh my god, irrational fear twins! Whenever you mention it too, someone will always approach you with a balloon. And then you hit them and they just have no idea where they went wrong.Rickford wrote:I was terrified of balloons. These parts of Ghostbusters 2:
- The Slime in the bathtub reaching out to grab baby Oscar
- Winston standing in the middle of the tracks yelling his head off and the ghost train going through him
- The mink coat which brushes through some slime and suddenly all the minks come back to life and they go running off down the street still attatched to each other.

Oh no! The music! I forgot! Me too, though.kasai wrote:It wasn't the guy, it was the damn theme music for me.
My mom loved that show, and when it would start that creepy music, a chill would run down my seven-year-old spine.
I must've repressed that music.

A lot of films that weren't made for kids but which I watched anyway. I love those films and have nostalgic connection with them now:
-Brasil
-Altered States
-Straw Dogs
-Reanimator
-Thriller music video (duh)
...and many others I can't remember.

You must have been damn stinky after awhile.

I was deathly afraid of innoculations. And apparently pancakes.

I don't remember being afraid of it, but when I was really young, my parents have assured me that I was deathly afraid of jello. It... wiggled.

Re: What scared you when you were a kid?
I was easily scared as a kid. Anything that was even remotely related to anything that might be considered kind of scary terrified me, but the things that stand out most in my mind are:
• The giant form that half-real-half-animated Jack and the Beanstalk movie
• "The Bumble" from Rudolf the Red-Nosed Reindeer
• Any ghost/monster from the Ghostbusters
• A nightmare I had once where my Mom turned into a bright orange, glowing skeleton (This dream is actually my earliest memory. I must have been like 3 or 4 at the time but I can still recall it quite vividly)

Re: What scared you when you were a kid?
I had almost the same dream. I was in bed, and my mom turned into some weird glowing monster. So my aunt grabbed me and ran down the street to a neighbor's house. I was able to get in, but she couldn't. So I sat on the couch with a bunch of cowboys and watched tv while she was getting killed or something.IVstudios wrote:• A nightmare I had once where my Mom turned into a bright orange, glowing skeleton (This dream is actually my earliest memory. Well, I was like 5. My dreams now are boring and hardly remember them.
Re: What scared you when you were a kid?
My dreams are weirder than ever these days. I'm thinking my sleep patterns being screwed may have something to do with it.
