Are you talking about the generic template generator by c.w.?

I've never used it myself, I usually recommend just using NotePad. However, someone who has used it should be able to answer your question if you wait a day or so...

If you are using the template generator, it'll be helpful to know the following:

1) What operating system you're using (i.e. Windows or Mac)
2) What browser you're using (i.e. Internet Explorer, Safari, or Firefox)
3) What options you chose (i.e. "I clicked 'Show the date of the comic in the title bar' and filled out the subtitle box.")

im using vista (ughh), and internet explorer. i only selected to have my name in the author spot and to use my logo for the title. i selected a cast page as well and fan art but those are things i don't have to have. By the way C.W. that template is a great tool. you enable people like me to go ahead and pursue our dreams of bringing our stories to the people instead of once again having to delay it until we learn html. if only i could figure out what im doing wrong.

You know, there's nothing wrong with the default template.

Funny Farm which is on KeenSpot was still using the plain white template up until about two weeks ago - and that comic has been running since about 1999.

Go ahead and work on your artwork - you can always improve the html later....

It's not your fault - there was a bug that must have cropped up recently. It should be fixed now.

Bug in HTML output?

Post by JHVipond »

There seems to be another bug in C.W.'s template generator. My webcomic page, at http://easybreather.comicgenesis.com/, displays the comic image and navigation links, but everything else in the browser window looks like raw source.

The actual HTML source is full of "p class" tags, and angle brackets have been changed to their HTML entity equivalents. Are any other Comic Genesis members seeing this problem? I'm running Mac OS X 10.4.11 with Safari 3.0.4 on a Mac mini.

It looks like you used "save as html" in textedit or whatever - try going through it again.

The NEW new version (beta 4 - which has quite a few changes) has instructions for Mac at the end.
