Let's see...
2000- Actually pretty good. This matches the trend. (Does 2000 count?)
2001- Not bad until September, but the remaining months cancelled it out.
2002- Wasn't that bad of a year, once things picked up in March.
2003- A very shaky and weird year. Hard to say what direction I'd put it.
2004- Fairly decent overall. The late summer was a little tough...
2005- A good year, going against the trend.
2006- Most of 2006 was good, until things fell in late November (an '07 warning?)
2007- Not very good, the worst of the bunch (worst since 1999). January and February were best. The spring was VERY rough, before improving slightly in the summer (July and the first two-thirds of August were OK) ONLY to drop again in September. Yuck!
2008- ? I'm hoping this is a better year, as I restart my comics with a little experience.

G - G - G G G B ?

Of course, I happen to remember 2007 more than the others except 2006, so time may mend some of this.

Depends, do you like setting things on fire?

Also, pants. y/n? Do not question the point of this question. There is none. Just answer it!

The bobble head Bob Barker demands it!

2008 should be better than 2007...

Post by Magpye »

Resolutions for 2008:

- Work out for 1 hour per day
- Draw two comic pages per week
- Get a job I enjoy
- Ignore the small pettiness of certain people (this would be helped by getting another job  )
- Learn to colour properly
- Rant less
- Socialise more

2008 is the year I do manage to make a comic (only five years in the planning :shifty: )

Sorry to double post, but I just saw this- I like doing this sort of thing too. I used to think that my even years were better than the odds, but I think it's actually pretty random:

2000: Decent. Was a little bit difficult in the beginning but I got accepted into UCLA.
2001: Not good at all. Had a lot of relationship problems- with my boyfriend at the time and with my dorm roommates. I was considering transferring to Berkeley. However, if the year wasn't so bad, I wouldn't have resurrected my old comic to get it published in the college newspaper- the origins of my current comic, "C'est la Vie"
2002: One of my best years of college. I met friends that I'm still friends with today. I got the classic college experiences that I missed out on during my first year. Got in contact with Universal Press Syndicate- started working with an editor there for my comic. It got a little bit bad near the end, but it was necessary- it helped me break up with my then boyfriend.
2003: Decent. I broke up with my boyfriend, got a new boyfriend. Was doing really well in school, picked up my second major- art history, which is what I'm doing now in grad school. Got a bunny!
2004: Good. Graduated from UCLA with a bunch of different honors, decided I wanted to go to grad school.
2005: Got signed by Universal Press. Spent the year at a junior college studying French and German for grad school, applied to grad schools. Got into NYU- rabbit died the same weekend. Got depressed.
2006: Scary. Moved to New York, adjusting to grad school. Broke up with boyfriend- turned into a horrible love triangle. Travelled a lot though.
2007: Horrible. Fell into a deep depression from Jan- April. Spent the night in the hospital. Unsympathetic friends and back stabbing roommates. Picked up in May when I met a nice guy, opened an exhibit at the comic museum, told some people to f**k off.
2008: Looks promising.

Maybe the evens are better afterall...

Oddly, I've seen all of my resolutions in this thread, some multiple times:

Don't Die ([AlmightyPyro])
variants ofGet a Job (prettysenshi, sput, phact0rri, Magpye)
Get Driver's License (prettysenshi)

Don't Die is a resolution that I made and kept last year, also like Pyro.

I think of goals made at the new year as something you *have* to do, not just something you aught to do. Thus, my resolutions are rarely broken. Also on last year's list: "Don't fail out of college." (Which some of you folks are also in on.)
