Return of the happy thread.

After many many weeks of commuting to my new job, selling my old house and closing on the new one today-- I am officially moving now. The movers were here today boxing everything I had yet to box- tomorrow they truck everything up.

What that means (I hope) is that I can start having time to comic again, time to read the forums.. time to get back to my old interests. I miss updating

I met some friends I hadn't seen in a while for dinner at a snooty restaurant which was serving discounted meals as part of a neighborhood "taste of" special, and my weekend has started.

I told a friend I liked her, well, as more than just a friend (first time I've ever done it, tbh) and she said she didn't feel the same. You'd probably think that I'd be really bummed, but this is actually good, cause it means I know for sure what I suspected and can move on. Hopefully. That, and I figure that it could've gone worse.

After many months going cold turkey, I just treated myself to a 1 month subscription to WoW. I'm strangely excited at the prospect of playing again after so long.

AND I was just informed that I'm going to get a call tomorrow regarding a paid commission for some political fellow. For posters or something. I'll post details when I know them

Today we:

Used two gift cards at JCPennies to buy a new electric razor for me and a gift bag for Beth.

Used a gift card at Waldenbooks to buy me a new book.

Used a gift card at Lane Bryant to buy Beth a bunch of cool clothes.

Used a gift card at a nice rug store to buy a beautiful runner rug and rug cushion (makes it not slip and preserves the carpet better).

Bought Beth new shoes and clothing (ok, this is more her hurrah, but ya know, whatever)

Bought lots and lots and lots of groceries.

Are going back out to get an oil change and dinner and read at a bookstore!

All in all, an awesome day.

NEW COMPUTER!!!! My brand new iMac replaces both of my computers, including the monitor. I'm so happy and need new pants.

My iPod isn't distroyed!!!!

Like 2 weeks ago, I must have dropped it as I was getting out of my car. That night it rained and I discovered it in the morning, wet, and covered in raindrops. Thankfully it was not in a puddle, but I was devestated that water got in it and the whole thing would be shot... including all the past school projects I had saved on it like a harddrive.

I dried it off as best I could and let it sit and dry out for two weeks. Today I plugged it in before work to attempt at charging it and holy crap... IT WORKS!

Perfectly.

There's absolutely nothing wrong with it.

I am truely amazed.

That's really not too surprising. Electronics, when not energized, aren't particularly allergic to water.

Last night when pulling into my parking lot, I noticed a yard sale across the street. I went over there and discovered both a nifty antiquey-looking lamp, and a really nice shiney glass candle holder! Bought them both at a grand total of $3.00!
