shouldn't this be in offtopic or even in comic pitching?

I'd say off-topic, since it's less about art, and more about an arguement, that was turned into art...?

Actually, it'd fit BEST in the Revenge of the Unhappy thread, imho.

It is a pretty good comic, tho.

Moved to Off Topic, even though I can't see much discussion coming out of this other than "I had a fight with my wife/girlfriend, have you".

I've had a fight with my wife/girlfriend too. They were so mad when they met.

I like the art style and the colors. But I think the hyphens got a little overdone on the stammering. And without any context as to what the lady is upset about it's kind of hard to understand.

Out of curiosity, Keff, what about it bothers you?

I have to say Ifind it less offensive and more embarassingly accurate. I've never accused someone of something like that, but I do tend to fly off the handle. Even worse at... certain times. I really hate it when I know an outburst could be coming, and I just can't seem to stop myself.

And consider this... in large groups, most women tend to biologically synch up.

But that's not (necessarily) what that conversation resulted from. Some women simply do expect guys to be more observant and/or conscientious. Pity the guy who never sees it coming...

EDIT:
And without any context as to what the lady is upset about it's kind of hard to understand.
I think part of it is in the first panel of the second row. But overall, the reader is probably supposed to be just as confused at the moment. :)

The comic itself, I can live with (edit: yes, as Kolter points out, it's an old joke, even if I don't personally find it terribly funny anymore); it's the idea of pulling it out of context and starting a thread about how, gee, women are so crazy... that annoys me. I mean, what kinds of responses are we going to get out of it? Threads like this are just asking for a bunch of people (who may or may not have ever actually been in a relationship) to get together and whine about stereotypes. "Women sure are passive-aggressive, aren't they?" "Yuhhh, tell me about it! When my chick is angry with me I give her my credit card and let her go crazy." Laughter ensues.

I guess we could talk about gender stereotypes in comics...

It's the stereotypical fight. Comedy gold for stand up comedians for years. Sucks it happened to you tho.

The only thing I can really add to this is:
This isn't a women specific issue, men do it to.
I've had it done to me on numerous occasions.

Irrationality isn't gender specific :P

I had this conversation once, but it was a male who made at me for reasons he wouldn't tell be because "I ought to know"

Took me days to figure out it was because I had told another one of our friends something and not him, and he was upset he missed out on the juicy gossip. If he had been there with us, I would have told him the gossip anyway. So women aren't the only gender that does this. :shifty:

I hate it when people do this to me, but I have done it in the past. I think it's because we don't want to sound stupid explaining it, or that we don't exactly know how to explain it. Some people can go as far as just not explaining because they don't want to take the time (I've see this in person). There's many reasons for people doing this sort of thing, and all of which in my opinion are stupid. The only way to stop it is to try not to do it yourself.
I'm glad 90's style forum signatures don't exist anymore.

Now I understand, Keff. I thought it was something about the comic specifically and I didn't see anything objectionable.

But yeah, I can sympathize with how the thread itself would be irksome.

I wouldn't say comedy gold, more like comedy copper. used in everything everywhere, but not particularly precious.

Stand up comic whose name I can't recall:

"Women are always talking about how things would be so much better if they ruled the world. You know what would happen? The United States nukes France. France calls up - 'What the hell did you do that for?' The US replies, 'Well if you don't know then I'm not going to tell you.'"

Makes me laugh every time.

The "If you dont know I'm not saying line" has been used on me ONCE. Then I told the girl what I thought was wrong, and an explanation. I was right, and her foot practically sprung into her mouth.
