The Evolution Thread Returns
Wow, a year's passed already. Well ladies and gents, its about that time again, show us how your art and style have evolved over the years. For people who haven't done it before, join in. It's always interesting to see how drastically everyone's stuff changes over time.

Twim and Sylphi stabilized fairly early on, and haven't changed much since then (though I have played with Sylphi's hair.) Most of the changes they've seen lately are plotful, such as getting a haircut...

Serif and Frankie haven't stabilized as much. Frankie's just sort of hard to draw--I know what I want him to look like, but it doesn't always come out. Serif I'm not so sure about. But then, she's the newest character, so I haven't drawn her as many times.

A good sample from each chapter.
Chapter 1, all pencil, little shading, way too scratchy. Chapeter 2, all pencil, more shading, smoother but not well defined. Chapter 3, ink and pencil, changed art styles to make the bunnies look more fluffy. Chapter 4, gone all ink, with hints of color here and there.
Still trying to get the balance of tones right on my grays though.

The only "character" I've regularly drawn over the years is me, so...here you go. Self-portraiture to the max. Drawings 2-4 come straight from my old comic.

Most of my documentation of my 2005-2006 school year is on my old linux hard drive, so there's a hole there. I'm sure I could find *something* from there if I scoured the internet hard enough, but that's okay. Aside from changes and improvements in my art technique, one can also observe changes in my dressing style, in my hairyness and in glasses. I used to have John Lennon-type glasses until the 2004-2005 school year, and I just changed glasses again during the summer of this year.
I'm starting to build up enough material for progressions of drawings of my friends too, but I think I'll refrain for now.
Edit: Maan, I should've cropped picture one. Ohh well. Here's the original, if you really care to see more "detail."
Edit Edit: Maan, I find it funny how most everyone else is waay more consistent than I am. My drawing styles seem to be aaalways changing, like, even drawings on the same sheet of paper.
Edit Edit Edit (Edit Mushroom MUSHROOM): Keep up the good work Linky.

We may be trying for more consistency, though. I mean, if I were drawing myself, it ought to change over time, because I change over time... Sylphi I try to keep consistent from panel to panel... I think I've drawn her+Twim (they have roughly the exact same face) about 1,000 times over the past two years, so that's a lot of getting everything down...jesusabdullah wrote:Maan, I find it funny how most everyone else is waay more consistent than I am.

I drew comics I'm coloring to update now months ago, which is why half of these are in color and half aren't,
but it's pretty much in the order of which they were drawn ^_^ (I think >.>)
