February.
I never figured out why northern hemisphere schools start half way through the year. I mean, why have an arbitrary delineation of time like a "year" if you're not going to stick to it anyway? Daft.

That's right, February....
So you mean you guys start the school year after summer? Wow, I had no idea!!!

Haven't you read Harry Potter?

Harry who?! j/k
I haven't actually read any Harry Potter... I knew school for you guys started after summer but it never clicked in my head that summer for you guys was around midyear!

Many years ago, school began after Labor Day (first week'a September), marking the unofficial end of summer. Nowadays, its more likely for school to start around mid to late August, and to go until May or early June. I always assumed that school lets out during the summer simply because its too hot to pay attention in a class.
I hear that in Japan, the new school year begins in the Spring (April or some such)!
You might want to try putting it underneath your vote buttons, next to the comic. Up in the corner it's pretty easy to miss. If it's a little closer to the end of the daily comic, it's easier for people to say, "Hey, I just read this comic, and now I have something to say about it- oh look- a tagboard where I can do that! I will say things now..."
Or... something to that effect.
It's about fluff, angst, drama, comedy, gaming. Come play in our world.

Just out of curiosity, is the school year in Korea divided into semesters or trimesters? Or something else entirely?
Two semesters, but the students have to attend supplemental classes for most of their nominal summer vacation. The good news is that during their "vacation" they get to go home at 3:00 instead of 9:00.

it's really annoying that actually my tagboard is oficially dead.
The other day I misspelled a word in my comic, which made a guy actually write in my tagboard that I did it. So, if you write something wrong, it might work
By the way, here in Brazil school starts at february and ends in november. That's because we have 1 month vacation in July (winter) and two in December/January (summer) instead of the whole 3 months
In the past, when I was really looking for some visitors to post on my tag-board, I'd issue types of challenges. The first one was simple. If ten different people post any message, extra comic or art or wallpaper. From there it graduated to "if 10 more people add me to their fav's at onlinecomics...etc" and then further on. Lately I've noticed, and I don't know if this is just because I finally got rid of my tag board and traded it in for a forum, but damn, peope get nasty on those tag-boards. If ANYTHING isn't perfect or on time or some dumbass sees where the story's going he or she feels the need to post it!
Makes me froth at the mouth, I swear. But I guess basically what I mean is, tag-boards are great when you're first starting out, but you may regret having one when your comic gets more popular. Readers seem to feel their purpose in life is to point out flaws, harshly. Personally, I'm of the mind set that if you're not going to encourage someone, and crit is not asked for, then shut the hell up. And I digress. Sorry for the language folks. Personal "thang." I see so many good comics and artists lose their love of comic-making because readers, well, commenters, are not content with a quality, free product. They've just gotta have their say.
-_- Technically yes, but it's not like human pubic hair. It's more like the hair on your arms or legs. So I don't draw it, but I still occasionally make jokes about it, which leads to confusion.
I've been considering putting up a tagboard almost since my comic began, but the spam problem has really put me off. There seem to be far fewer solutions for tagboard spam out there than there are for forum spam, and I've really only just got the problem of spammer signups on my forums under control (a "security question" mod seems to be the way to go, incidentally).
Given the young age and small readership of my comic, I'm not overly concerned about low activity on my forums, although I'd be very happy to see it increase. One tip that I received was to have an RSS feed for the forums, although I'd advise this only if you're reasonably confident you aren't going to be deluged with spam posts.
Amazoness! Because men seldom make passes at girls who routinely kill men.

My old tagboard got flooded by spammers twice; banning their ip addresses as they came in staved off the problem both times.
It's not that I can't conceive of an insurmountable influx of tagboard spam, I just haven't encountered such a problem. Just make sure you get a tagboard/shoutbox/chatbox/whatever that allows banning.
