So, um, how's the new server coming along? The queue's still over 3000... :shifty:

The queue is going down at a regular, normal speed.

Last I heard, Redwolf was still waiting to hear that the server had arrived.

This was rather surprising: The queue is over 2000, but my index update went through immediately. So, I assume index updates move differently than regular updates... :-?

I don't think it has to do with index updates; that's happened to me a few times when I used a regular update this past fortnight. I haven't a clue why it happened.

Ah well, don't look a gift horse in the mouth, as they say.

Redwolf mentioned in chat that it might take a week to get it all straightened out; that was before he got the server or started though, so really, we will have to wait to hear what he has to say after his efforts today.

Well hopefully the sites aren't down for the entire week...

Any ETA on siteadmin? I'd like to get in there and check some things, not to trigger an update (since mine updates today anyway).

It's understandable now why the sites are down, so I'm willing to wait a week if I have to if it means no more downtime from then on out.

The important thing is that they do get done, sometimes a bit later than we like but they always manage to get them done

Considering that we could say the same for pretty much *any* hosting service, "Gets done eventually" isn't really saying much.

Well hopefully this is the last crap-out before the new server or whatever is all resolved and we can say goodbye to this junk for a while.
