Well, congrats for them! I hope something new and original comes of this, and not just superhero-in-spandex. Unless it's satirical of course.

Well, looking over the site, the winner of last year was Hero by Night, so I don't think they're aiming for anything other than superhero stuff.

Pity they don't list any links to see samples from their top 50 (not that i found).

....Do we know any of these people?
Caught in the headlamp glare of your own blinding vanity/Mesmerised by the stare of your shallow personality
Gorging the junk food of flattery you drag your fat ego around/Everyone floored by the battering you give to whoever's around
Oh Narcissus you petulant child admiring yourself in the curve of my eyes/Oh Narcissus you angel beguiled unsated by self you do nothing but die

How about parodies of parodies of parodies?

Or a tarantino-esque "Tribute".

Both superheroes and superhero parodies are old, but either can be entertaining if done well and, well, differently. The adventures of Superman have been done this way that way and every other way, but there's no reason why the adventures of paperclip man or a superhero running around the 1800s couldn't be interesting.

yes, i'd love to see more college roommate strips, strips all about videogames, and most of all, a fantasy featuring magic elves that fight evil orcs. Yes, they've all been done before, but not "in the manga style."

...sorry for the embittered rage. I just uploaded some art to DA and got pissed because I couldn't figure out what fucking catagory to use. I don't speak/read japanese so I don't know where to put my shit.
