[BUG] Domains not setting up right.

Folks, I'm going to hold off on setting up new domains. There seems to be a problem with CG's and Keenspot's shared DNS servers that is taking some time to resolve -- frankly put, I don't have access to them, and the problem is not on our end.

Needless to say, if we don't get any reply back from Nate or Darren soon, I'll set up a DNS server here, and ask everyone to switch over.

So hang in there. Ether it gets resolved or we'll work around it.

A few questions then:

1. In the meantime, should I just have my domain forward to my CG site? (I already did after I read this thread)

2. What's wrong with doing that even if you were setting up new domains?

3. Has this problem still not been fixed since Nov. 19, 2006 when this thread was first started?

I don't know what it means, but mine started working a couple of days ago... No clue if that's just luck, or if it means that the problem's fixed, though.

It is still stickied and no notice that it has been fixed has been put on there. Since the wiki suggests we can screw it up I figured it best to wait for clarification that the problem has been fixed. A couple of months worth of problems is not unheard of where CG is concerned.

Is this why it's been over 4 days since Kisai told me wait for my domain to resolve and it still hasn't?

Yes. We're still waiting for Nate to respond to my question about DNS. Any more and I'll bug him by phone.

Nate has finally got DNS resynced again. We have one bug relating to DNS which is on our side, but I should be able to re-add domains soon -- aka if it doesn't happen by the time I go to St. Louis, it'll get done at St. Louis.
