While we're talking about the Wiki, my entire page there seems to have been deleted. I mean completely. I can't even recover it. Google still recognizes it, but that's it. Can anyone tell me what happened? (Sorry if this seems a hijack, but I hate starting new threads and it seems that the original question is answered).

Same with mine. It was working yesterday, but now it's completely deleted, impossible to revert. Server error, perhaps? Looking at a lot of comics, it appears that many are having the same problem.

Kisai and Kelly were doing updates to the server yesterday, the wiki is hosted on it as well. I don't know if anything is permanently deleted or if something just got rolled back, but they don't have access to the server right now to do anything. I'd say sit tight until they say something about it.

Yesterday, I accessed the GateCrosser entry from the link on the SiteAdmin (so, http://cgwiki.comicgenesis.com/index.ph ... ateCrosser) I can't say for certain what time it was, but I believe it was in the afternoon - say, between 1:30 and 4:30. I saved the entry and went back in. So, at that time, it was saved to the database.

Today, when I follow that link, I get the "There is currently no text in this page..." error, and when I check my contributions, it says I don't have any. There's no history that shows yesterday's entry was ever saved.

For the record, this missing wiki entry isn't an issue for me at all, just providing details since I had noticed it.

FYI, the CG Wiki and Forums are on the same server. Aka this one. We can still access this one.

I can see a similar problem.

On the Tutorials page, it's gone back to an older version (July 2006), but I've been adding tutorials semi-frequently for the last two or three months.

On the "Recent Changes" page, some of the links to the missing tutorials still show up. The missing articles seem to be: how to delete a strip, setting the offset time, how to add more pages, advanced settings explained, changing to a non-standard index and how to make your comic look pretty (just added yesterday).

That's the six that I have links for, but I think that there was one or two others. There's also no history tabs, so it doesn't look like someone's deleted the entries (which could then be rolled back to the non-deleted version), they've simply been dropped from the database.

Edit: According to my contributions list, all my contribs after January this year have disappeared (except a typo I fixed just now).

I'm not really certain what exactly happened with the upgrade short of the fact I upgraded it manually and the update script ran but didn't complete.

Since it's currently working, short of some missing data from the last 3 days (the history log says more pages should exist) I'll assume that people will just fix the bugs in the pages and move on.

Not much else I can do

Mine's gone as well ... I only did it a couple of days ago so I suppose I'll have to do it again ... *shrugs* Glitches can happen ...

Never mind ... it's good practise

Argh all of my updates are completely gone. >_<

Updates from like... a month ago!

Aren't there supposed to be safeguards for this kind of thing?

It's also happened to me. Unfortunately, I don't have a copy of the stuff I put in there, I kind of wrote it on the fly, and now I'm not sure I can recreate it in the same light. Its unfortunate, but life goes on.

k I'm not a total moron, I do back things up. None of you guys are helping. It's possible I can retreive the old version but you need to tell me what's in it.

as it is, I don't think the upgrade 'deleted' anything, rather it showed whatever version was current as of the backup. The problem is Kelly also did a back up and restore in march, so as far as I know anything between march and now was liable to get destroyed in the process, since you are never supposed to DOWNGRADE an application.

Anyway I'd need something to go on, like an exact line or something. Pretty much it can only be narrowed down to about 2000 lines, which I didn't think the wiki had.

Try this:

"Ethan is like most other college-enrolled 18-year-olds... Or so he'd like to think. There lurks an evil presence within him that threatens to destroy not only those around him, but millions of other lives. The plot that was laid thousands of years ago is beginning to unfold..."

That's word-for-word exact of "Comic:Actus Reus", which was deleted in the whatever-it-was. Good luck!

My wiki entry is gone as well. Is there any hope it'll be restored, or am I going to have to slog through and re-create everything that took me days in the first place?

Actually, I wouldn't worry about my pages, I've rewritten it and am about to repost it, not to mention the fact that there wasn't all that much in there anyway. Thanks for caring enough to actually try though, I appreciate it.

Yeah, doesn't look like the missing stuff is gonna turn up any time soon. I'll start re-writting the tutorials and try and make them better while I'm at it. And keep a back-up on the local system as well...

Actually, discovered another glitch. I just updated my cgwiki page, but now I realised, I'm not in the comic listing anymore. As in, I go to the comicgenesis homepage, click on the link 'by title', and Confessions of Boredom is not there. I don't imagine its a huge issue, or that it will take too long to fix but I do find it a bit unnerving that I'm not listed anymore.

Sorry, not to worry, 5 minutes later the whole issue solved itself. Except that for some reason, I'm listed as Coinfessions of Boredom. Quite possibly my fault, was just wondering if it could get fixed at all? If it can't, don't worry about it, but if it isn't too much hassle, it would be appreciated.

You seem to have spelled it as 'Coinfession' yourself. I've moved it to the correct name for you.
