I doubt the legitamacy of everything. But you already knew that. There's too much suck everywhere not to have doubts.

Hi everyone! Just wanted to say that because shops here are closed on saturdays, free comic obok day was bumped up a day early, and has just ended two hours ago (I live in Israel)

if I'm not wrong pretty much all the comic genesis books got snatched right up. one got snatched up by me, which is how I found out about this site! A couple of characters on the cover looked alot like characters of min(the one with the red jacket and brown hair and the fox/wolf one) so I had to take a look at what it is. I also overheard a couple kids talking baout how cool the book is.

Well, here I am, So hello!

Hello and glad to meet you :D I hope in addition to the comics in the sampler, you'll spend a while trying some of the other ComicGenesis offerings. There are an awful lot, but you can find them randomly through links on other CG comics, through the display of images on the main page, etc. etc.

The next review (with "grade") comes from Salon.com. I'll try to post it in itty bitty illegible font to spare the feelings of any sensitive types out there:

Several dozen one-to-three-page strips -- mostly context-free excerpts from longer stories -- by fledgling cartoonists whose Web comics are hosted by comicgenesis.com. Unfortunately, they're all pretty amateurish. D

I wouldn't have bothered to post it if it weren't from as big a site as Salon. What were reactions to the sampler like in years past?

^Amateurish?

Don't worry, with that kind of a review he couldn't be holding the same comic book that's sitting on my desk right now.

Aye, same here. I tried all three of the local comic book shops and got:

"We only got a few of those in - they went as soon as we opened the doors"
"We don't get the KS or CG samplers in."
"We're not taking part this year."

Such fun :-/

HOLY CRAP. I called around to all the stores in my area, and there was only one place that had it, and when I finally got there, the last copy was sitting on the table. I asked the guy how many he ordered, and he said only ten, but still, that's not bad that it went so quick.

The comic is awesome, you guys. Everyone's stuff looks fantastic, and I love that it's on newsprint. It takes me back to before they were printing comics on glossy paper, and it has that nice comic smell to it. I hope everyone else can get a copy somehow. Nice work, people! :D

I didn't see Keenspot's comic in the store at all, oddly enough.

I tried three stores and no go, though there are SUPER NICE people working at Alternate Realities in Scarsdale (plug plug plug). (Good folks also at American Legends, but that one is mostly a sports memorabilia shop.) If I weren't working on my comic, I'd go hunting in Manhattan, but at this hour of the day it's probably too late anyway.

I'll keep my fingers crossed my copy gets here in next week's mail :o

Big pile of them at my local comic book store (I got there early) so I got to pick one up.

Excellent work to all involved, I'll have to get in on this next year.
