wedding
Right, as you all probably know I got married on the 15th of February but what you don't know is the story about it.
Well me and Matt met online a few years ago, and he was over in Sweden twice (once for two weeks and once for one week). He met my parents and they gave us their blessing for the wedding.
Anyway February 15th dawned cold and snowy here in new Jersey (it had snowed a LOT the day before). But they had finally managed to plow the parkway and turnpike so people could drive over to New York where we where going to get married at the Swedish church.
Me and my mother got our hair and makeup done at a local hair salon and of course the guys where late in picking us up so I was getting nervous if we would be late for the church. Even with Matt´s friend driving like a loony we did end up a tad late for the church (mostly due to the terrible Manhattan traffic). So we rushed into the church where I changed to my wedding gown in a small room in the back.
The service was held in both Swedish and English (some parts in Swedish and some in English) since we had people from both Sweden and the States, and Matt wanted to honor my Swedish ancestry. I accidentally put the ring on his right hand ring finger (it didn't really fit) but other then that the ceremony went off without a hitch. Though I must tell you, before I heard the "here comes the bride" song I was so extremely nervous! (And Matt later confided that he was nervous too!) But once I saw him standing there I just got filled with love and calm! It was really magical!
We had coffee and cake in the basement of the church as we thought we had plenty of time to drive down to Tom´s River for the reception, how wrong we where. We had forgot Manhattan rush hour! It took us 3,5 hours just to drive a few blocks to the tunnel so we could hit the parkway down, so we ended up late to the reception as well! Typical! Late two times in one day (we always seem to be late).
But the reception was wonderful though, food was good and the cake was well lets just say dreamy. I do not want to dwell too much on it or my drool will ruin the keyboard.
One week later we spent a lovely week in Key West as our honeymoon, but you are not getting pictures of THAT!

Congrats!
Makes me feel like I should propose to my boy, but we aren't even in the same half of the continent and won't be for a couple years. I should probably wait at least until we're kinda together and my family knows I'm gay. It's kinda a good thing to know before the wedding.

Oh, but wouldn't it be more fun for them to find out during the ceremony, when everyone turns to see a bride walking down the aisle? wouldn't that be a mind-fuck?JohnnyTwoEyes wrote:Congrats!

His name is Taylor, so it'd be pretty easy to pull off.MistressMaggie wrote:Oh, but wouldn't it be more fun for them to find out during the ceremony, when everyone turns to see a bride walking down the aisle? wouldn't that be a mind-fuck?JohnnyTwoEyes wrote:Congrats!

I like how vaguely surprised your hubby looks in one pic.
Like he almost couldn't believe that it was all finally happening.
I'm so happy for you.
*hugs tight*
