Huh. I actually ran into some anti-CG sentiment on another forum, where someone said that they wouldn't look at anything with a CG domain. I'm not quite sure why, I guess the figure that because it's free hosting that free = amateur effort?, is being on CG, on Webcomicsnation, or on your own ISP reallly considered a reflection on the professionalism of one's comic? A URL is just a URL, n'est-ce pas? Or am I naive to the ways of the world?
I said "Hey! I'm hosted on CG because I like people, and being a part of a community, and I bust my ass on my comic. So, Ppbbbtthhh!

So, I guess there can be a stereotype there, but frankly, I'd rather be a part of a community of people than forging ahead on my own.

Because artists have been known throughout the ages for their vast monetary wealth with which to support their art. If a lot of people have a preconceived notion about hossting services I guess we just have to counter-post when we see the sentiment expressed on another forum, and try to get our comics reviewed far and wide, and try to get more exposure in general. Like, starting weird comics collectives. Ahem.
I could understand someone saying "I only read comics on [Girlamatic, some similar site] because they have editorial oversight in choosing what appears there and I like their taste in comics." But if you see a nice banner but you won't click because it says CG, then you are clearly not intellectually prepared for the wonder that is my comic.
