I could argue that I have a life, job, and am also a full time student.

But the fact remains that I am one lazy bastard.

Full time job

Wife works full time

Two school age kids (10 and 12 -the new 15-)

14 year old dog

Senile laptop

REASONS, not excuses

Actually I've only missed a few and I always post an "I'll be right back" panel. As others have said, it's a hobby right now. But I got big plans, see...

I used to think a girlfriend, a job and all these stuff was reason enough... But usually I'd think of that while watching something stupid on TV or playing computer games. So I cut the TV and the games and now I committed myself to update every monday, wednesday and friday, and so it is.

Thank god the strips in English are only translations from old ready strips, so I can update the English site every weekday :D

Health has been my one and only reason. When you have days where you sleep for 12 hours, just doing regular stuff can be difficult, let alone a comic. Working on changing that, tho.

A Jonathon Dalton Missed Update Excuses Top Ten List:

10.) When I run out of art supplies it's a three hour trip to go get more.

9.) The internets. All of them.

8.) I spend too much time drawing comics for people other than the comics I'm supposed to be updating.

7.) I had a buffer, but I blew it so I could draw a comic for someone.

6.) Insomnia is hazardous to your health.

5.) It's hard to slack off at a job where I barely have time to sneak out to the bathroom.

4.) I love my job too much to slack off any more than I do.

3.) When I get work and how much are very hard to predict in advance.

2.) Each page takes me 14 hours plus to draw!

And the number one reason why I miss updates...

1.) Recurring depression over my low hit count and inability to update! :)

I take full responsibility for the most recent example of this. :D

Uhm...The Broken Mirror does update pretty darn reliably, either two or three days a week depending on what we stipulated at the beginning of that week. This is because I love it and it is mine story and it is drawn gorgeously by JJ and it has fans who actively clamour and can't wait for the next page and the unique visitors have been going up by 100s each month and I must get onto the really exciting stuff that comes about a little way down the line post haste. :D

Between Two Worlds is rubbish at updating because it has always been rubbish at updating and I am merely adhering to tradition. :p

Ah, but even you cannot take full responsibility. :( Not only am I working on writing "that other" comic this week, but I am drawing a poster for someone else and an illustration of sorts for yet another person. I must learn how to say no more effectively. Only... saying yes feels so good!

Cats. XD Whenever I sit down at the computer, I'm mauled by the cats. "ZOMG! Human in one spot, unmoving- perfect to give me attention!" My cat has also learned how to push the keyboard in, and when I use a different computer, he simply lays on one of my arms. Very difficult to colour with one hand. ;_; I need a finger (or three) on the CRTL + ALT buttons.
