I played SSBM religiously, to the extent that when my memory card broke (losing all my SSBM data), I became so upset that I drank a whole bottle of vodka, smashed the card into a fine powder with my shoe, and then rocked myself to sleep cradling my empty bottle.

If they take away my favourite characters, I don't know what I'm going to do...

While the Olympics theme is questionable, it conjures up images of a much larger Wii Sports. This could be Mario vs Sonic in just about everything.

As for those saying "Snake in Smash Bros? Why?" what is wrong with you? You're acting as if the game just got cancer.

I do hope that Falco stays, I used him all the damn time. I really wish there were more Earthbound characters in it, too.

As for Snake... he doesn't really match stylistically. Apparently they added him because the creator of the series begged the designers to put him into Smash Bros. Seems more like a publicity stunt to get the gamers who usually only like shooters and x-treme badassery into playing the game.

I hope they replace the ice climbers with the guys from Balloon Fight. Or Professor Hector from Gyromite. He could smash people with pipes and throw Smicks and dynamite at people, all while sleepwalking.

Wheter or not the olymic theme will work depends on what events they'll have.

I mean, if they have events like "boss battle relay" or summat, then the game will definitely be funner than if you're just doing polo or pole-vault.

It's only a rumor.

Interview on the M&S game. As you can see by the first question, the Olympics part came first. Then they put Sonic in to make it more interesting. Then they put Mario in for the fun of it. It also features something a little unfortunate for those hoping this would seal the deal for Sonic in SSBB.

Personally, I'm only a little "meh" about Snake being in there, but yah, the reason is that he just doesn't fit. Virtually all the characters that've been in Smash Bros. have been brawlers and otherwise in-your-face fighters. Snake is at his best when he's sneaking around behind people who don't even know he's there. In fact, when he actually does go toe-to-toe with even the weakest soldiers in his games, he tends to get his ass handed to him.

Now, if it actually were like this (excepting the last panel, natch), it might be pretty neat, but it'd still also be really really out of place. But not being like that wouldn't be staying true to the character himself.

Mario has been dispensed from taking the drug test, as have all Nintendo characters. Their company's 'family friendly' policy does not allow them to have any genitalia, so they aren't technically able to provide urine samples.

Sonic will likely be disqualified, however, as soon as he's had to take the test - he's practically pure speed.

How would you know? Have you seen Peach naked? Did you take pictures?

2) Ice Climbers are awesome. For the world's most insane SSBM match this is what you do. Get four people, and make them all pick Ice-Climbers as their character. Then, turn the colour off on your TV. You can't put a price on that kind of confusion.
