Project Mix Up

Post by Midgear »

Hi the names Steele Snover from http://www.happybutdead.com, and I’m starting a comic called Project Mix Up. This is going to be a big project with many people involved. It will work like this: a artist makes 2 pages of the comic then he/she hands it off to the next artist who makes the next 2 pages, and repeat until we run out of people and it goes back to the first person and starts over. The story will evolve on it’s own depending on what the artists do in there 2 pages. So if you want to join in mail me with a link to some of your artwork and we’ll see if we like it, and if we do you will be added to the list of people who are making the comic.

Thank you and hope to hear from you!
my email is gear@happybutdead.com

Sounds rather like a certain collab comic I work on.

But, you know, the problem with round-robin type projects is that as soon as one person in the group gets bogged down with, say, real-life issues, or can't think of where to take it, the entire project just grinds to a halt.

Sorry. Must of been some other guy on Gaia named Steele in the comic forums who wanted to do a multi-comic collaboration.

Just start a jam instead, they're easier to organize and more fun to do.

Yeah, but you have to be careful about "let's start a jam" jams. They often have the same fate as "let's start a webcomic" comics.
This is going in my notebook titled "Things I Didn't Know about Surface Dwellers."

What type of comic would the comic be? Sci-fi? Fantasy? Real-life-ish?

I'm seeing a lack of details that could lead to a lack of organisation. lack of organisation leads to lack of planning in case of problems. Be prepared, that's what I often say.

[edit] oh, and follow a link to reach my current level of comic art, more or less.

There is a comic kind of like that in swedish called Impromangan. It has run for five years now, changing authors every month. The story is almost coherent for some reason.

I like things like this, but sadly, there is no time.

Aw Keff, you beat me to the punch!

Maybe we ought to have given Golden the option to swap turns or something, not sure, but Aja's a tad busy right now, I think.

I wouldn't say they're any worse off than a "let's make a collab comic" comic =D
