I like Family Guy, but I hate American Dad

I agree. Though I find American Dad to have a few great moments. It's just not funny most of the time. And sometimes it's 100% bad (and not bad in a good way).

Someone mentioned that American Dad was the left overs of Family Guy and I don't see that too far. Though not really a fan of anything after the first three series of Family Guy either.

I'm a fan of the new family guy stuff. You can see a joke coming a mile away, but I still laugh.

I think the big difference between the two shows comes down to the characters. The main focus in Family Guy is usually Peter, Brain, Stewie, or Lois. All of which are pretty funny. Who are the focuses of American Dad? Stan, his son, the daughter and the mom? And I guess the gay alien. That's like Family Guy focusing on Joe, Chris, Meg and Brian's gay cousin.
