Who the hell is . . .
I decided to start up this thread as a little "get to know you" section of the forum, where we can give a bit of background information about ourselves and ask each other questions to avoid misunderstandings and all that. It'll also help to alleviate a little of that "who the hell am I talking to" feeling that us newer folks get.
So here is Johnny Two Eyes introducing himself:
My name is John, and I live in the Chicago suburbs. Due to health issues, I spend most of my time indoors, writing and reading screenplays to bide my time. I'm in my twenties and, despite the young age, I have practiced many trades from computer programming to blacksmithing.
The nickname Johnny Two Eyes comes from the fact that my left eye has become so dominant that my right eye has become almost useless (focusing it is quite painful). I also wear glasses, so it is four eyes minus two.
Now, relationships! I am bisexual and am currently in my first homosexual relationship with a very loving and beautiful boy who sadly resides in the Los Angeles area. Fun times will be had once my health is stable enough for me to travel the distance.
I will be happy to answer any questions that are thrown my way, and I don't want to be the only one on this trainwreck of a thread so post away!

Allrighty.
I'm a 16 year old college student. I'm actually a junior; I started when I was a week over 13.
I'm also bisexual, but have never been in any sort of relationship. I've yet to have a first kiss, as it were. I'm really desperate for affection...I also have a webcam, if anyone wants to know.
I've lived in Florida all my life, though I've been to most of the U.S. and several European countries. It is my new life's dream to one day travel the globe and visit everyone from GGC. My old life's dream was to see my all time favorite statue, the ORIGINAL tentacle rape.

I'm WangyJohn. That's not my real name. I live in Europe.
Where there, you ask.
Well, that's the funny part. I'm having a little experiment. I purpously keep my real location and name secret, to prove a point. Europe is now devoid of culture. You could be walking in Madrid, London, Hamburg, Copenhagen or Athens, and you wouldn't know where you were. Same chain stores, same clothes, same music everywhere. Only way to know is to ask.
I feel this loss of identity in exchange to the American identity is a shame, as we also keep out immigrants and reffugees out 'to protect the culture' and because 'theyd drain our welfare system (and steal our jobs)', whilst we cut social spending, outsource and lower work security so that soon you can't go to sleep at night knowing that when you wake up tomorrow, you can go do your job.
Anyway, as you might have noticed, I'm quite lefty.
Anyway, I'm 18, currently serving my country through un-armed service, that is the option for the army. Which is mandatory to all men from 18 to 30 here. I'm registered as a student in a polytechnic on the computer technology studies, but I have no intention on even stepping foot in that school (I know squat of computers). I'm enrolling to an university the coming spring, to study english.
I have two brothers, one is in the army (navy, to be exact), the other still in school. My mom and my dad seperated (they were never married) when I was a kid, despite mom having few boyfriends now and then (being married at one point), but mostly, me and my brothers have been raised by a single mom.
I like rock music. From prog to HC Punk. I also like reggae, irish rebel music, protest songs etc.
Yeah, that's about it.

I'm a third-year university student doing a double major in creative writing and philosophy. I live on Vancouver Island but was born in Regina and have lived in Winnipeg and Yellowknife as well. I work in a card and gift shop, but for the most part I keep my work stories elsewhere.
I call myself bisexual for simplicity's, rather than clarity's, sake; in the main I prefer men, but women are definitely not out of the question. My boy and I have been together for nearly a year and a half. (He's a physics student.) I'm top and he's bottom.
My goal is to be the first woman to win the Oscar for best director.

Greetings! I am Linkara, also known as Lewis.
I'm currently a Sophomore in college and 19 years old in Minnesota. "Linkara" is a word from my books (which you should all be buying, by the way! ^_~) and yes, I've published three books! Link through the store from my webcomic's sig.
I'll try to avoid arguing with Wangy, since I'm a Conservative who also is Christian- *Sees everyone flee in horror and wonder what in the heck this guy's doing here. Subsequently takes out a megaphone to continue talking.* While I am a Christian, my beliefs on gay rights tend to swing to the left! I am also a virgin (saving myself for marriage... unless the right slutty girl comes along) with no girlfriend. I can't really say I'm bisexual, since I'm not attracted to men in the real world. However, online I've cybered with guys, gals, and shemales/herms (okay, probably guys/girls, themselves, but you get it) and while I find furry yaoi porn a turn-on, real gay porn... well, the webcomic Treading Ground covered real gay porn. ^_~ So, anyway, to get off that subject...
My goal is to be heralded internationally as one of the greatest writers of all time.
...Oh, and also to someday eradicate every single John Norman book from the face of the earth, but that's kind of a miniquest from the main goal, like many of my plots.

MY full name is Edward Mayhue Ramsey. I was named after my Great Grandfather, Ralph Mayhue Cox, who was the supplu officer of the 7th Cav under General Pershing.
I dropped out of high school when I was 14 for mental heaalth reasons, and got my GED at 18, I scored in the top 10 percent in Florida. although that's not saying much.
I'm an Army Guardsman, and will be for the next six years. after that I don't have many plans, but i'm hoping to go out into the middle of nowhere, dig a hole in the side of a hill, and let the world forget about me.
Due to Army policy I can't discuss much else about me.

The American dream is to prosper by your chosen means, make your own decisions independent from some asshole in a fancy building. to live, love, and die by your own choices and passions.

I am Lowky which will do as my name
I am a 36 years old male.
I have a degree in Microbiology that I havent used in 4 years now. I am currently working as an administrative assistant in an outpatient Mental Health clinic. I also work part time for Palace Sports and Entertainment, which includes The Detroit Pistons, Palace of Auburn Hills events, DTE Energy Music Theater (formerly known as Pine Knob), and Meadowbrook Music Theater (which we manage for Oakland University).
I may as well be a virgin again as it has been 6 years since I was sexually involved with someone, and 5 years since I was even on a date (got to love that time period of Un and under-employment for your self-esteem and finaces). I would say that everyone is bisexual, and it is choices they make that determine which end of the spectrum they fall at. While all of my sexual partners have been female, I have certainly had feelings/fantasys about other guys. I would say i am submissive, but could be a switch. I enjoy tentacle rape, WAM, lesbian pr0n, hentai, some furry (though I don't consider myself a furry), BDSM (more so the BD than the SM, though sometimes hard to seperate such as the Sleeping Beauty series by Ann Rice). I actually prefer written pr0n to images usually, probably because I am a voracious reader. In regards to books, I enjoy Scifi-fantasy, horror, historical fiction, classic literature, erotica, mystery/suspense especially "serial Killer" type, and often times a blending of all of it. For example I am a huge fan of Laurell K Hamilton which blends horror, sex, and mystery in her Anita Blake series and Fantasy, sex, and suspense in her Meredith Gentry series. another example of blending are the Count St Germaine vampire stories by Chelsea Quinn Yarbro, which are all set in distinct historical eras such as gladitorial rome, Medici era venice, etc. Also while I understand that John Norman is not a good author, etc, his books still hold a place in my heart, as they were probably the first books I read that explored any sort of BDSM relationships, even as skewed as they are. I have tried my hand at writing but am never happy with what I write. I have mostly attempted writing in the Sci-fi/fantasy genre, but have also attempted some erotica. I probably thought my erotica was better than my sci-fi stuff but even that I was never happy with.
Well enough rambling about me... lets hear from someone else.

Okay, I'll try this out....
I'm Sabrina, prefer to be called Bri since for most of my life I never had a nickname, so now that I have one, I'm wallowing. *chuckles* I'll be 28 in October and have just landed a job working for a company called BearingPoint, based in DC. I'll be working in their intel division, and I have a Top Secret with Sensitive Compartmented Information access clearance, but I'm hoping to upgrade to a polygraph soon. *fingers crossed*
I have four years experience as an officer in the US Army, MOS 35D (Military Intelligence, and I've heard all the jokes), but got out due to conflict between myself and my then commanding officer. I'm currently serving the remainder of my contract in a reserve unit where I hope to God I never get deployed again. I did deploy as part of Operation Iraqi Freedom (the original one) in 2003, but only stayed for three months as I was part of an Air Defense unit at the time.
I'm not very political, to be honest, but I do have a very good religion called Unitarian Universalism that allows me to believe what I wish to believe and typically makes me pretty liberal in my leanings.
I'm pretty straight sexually; I've only had one sexual partner in my entire life, and he was a guy; but I've been celibate (not by choice, trust me) for the past three years. I will admit to having had fantasies with girls in them, but never tried it in real life; not ruling it out entirely though.
And... that's pretty much it. Next?

I'm RavenxDrake (Used to be just RavenDrake but I forgot my original login info). Some Variation of Raven or RavenDrake has been my handle/nick in everything online since my first computer(and probably stilll a few RVN's on Galga and Pacman machines across the eastern seaboard).
Now, my real name is Edward. Feel free to call me Edward if you want. I was born and Raised in a little town called Valdese, North Carolina (in the foothills of the Blue Ridge mountains, give or take). I moved to the eastern part of NC in highschool and live there currently. I attented Appalachian University for a time, but withdrew due to family issues I'm still resolving, so currently I work at a dead-end retail job and try very hard not to throttle rude-ass customers as that would likely get me fired. I'm heterosexual (mainly cause, quite frankly, I think men are fucking ugly, and I don't understand what women see in us) and not currently seeing anyone.
I have views and oppinions on everything, but generally don't offer them unless directly asked... and I never give any shorthand pidgeonholeing of my views and ideas. Concepts like "liberal" or "right Wing" or "progressive" are largely meaningless to me, and I dispise people who cling to these labels, but still express ideas well outside the established norm. "Well, I'm a liberal, but I still think peope who get more than 3 parking tickets should get the death penalty." If you want to know where I stand on something, feel free to ask and I'll tell you. But be aware: I don't bullshit, I don't play games, I don't beat around the bush, and I don't sugarcoat anything. If you come to me with a question, you'll get an answer whether you like it or not.
I love reading, and have since I was young. Considering that I was young at very early age, I've been reading for some time. I adore Humour, horror, fantasy, science Fiction, historical fiction, history, mythology, and comics(eastern and western). I'm absolutely smitten with animation and watch both western animation and anime and eastern animation, computer animation, stop motion and claymation, and others. My true adoration is for the classics, Looney Tunes, Tom and Jerry, Betty Boop, Popeye, etc.
I spend entirely too much time in front of the computer, in forums, on IRC (typically on Dalnet as RavenDrake, but also in the Ghastly irc room), and playing two differnt MMO's (Everquest 2, all char on the Kithicor server) or City of Heroes/Villians (some 38+ characters spread across 7 differn't servers, all below level 20 save my main, Spyderbite(27 Mastermind on Freedom Server).
And, seeing as how this is starting to sound more and more like the most pathetic personal advert ever, I'm just gonna trail off here....

Yay! Self promotion!
My name is Ryan and I'm a Network Engineer, Unix Administrator, IT Manager, Data Security Professional, Cephalopod Research Assistant, Writer, Anime Voice Actor, and Amateur Photographer.
I've been in the IT industry for 10 years now, and I've worked on mainframes, miniframes, desktops, servers, clusters, SONNET rings, satellite trancievers, digital cable headends, medical diagnostic imaging equipment, and all manner of assorted high tech sounding pieces of gear.
I take a lot of pride and self-identity from my work, and not so much my sexual orientation, or political views, ect. I'm straight, but much like everyone, have been attracted to members of the same sex that possess physical or mental qualities I wish I had myself. I tend to be a centerist when it comes to politics, because I believe a balance between liberal and conservative is the right way to go forward. I am an outspoken and mock-violent advocate of Solaris and Sun hardware. A devotee of the modular kernel, a strict BSDean, an open-source moderate, and quite thrilled that I can now run any application, no matter what OS is was written for, native, on a Solaris box. All hail the Branded Zones!
On the non-IT side, I've been researching cephalopods for 6 or 7 years, assisting Dr. James Wood, now of the Bermuda Biological Station. I've been co-publisher on a number of peer-review articles on squid behavior and octopus neuromotor functions post mortem in vitro. I've written a few non-scientific articles for a couple of magazines, my favorite being co-written with Dr. Wood and published in Fresh and Marine Aquarium Magazine titled "50 Signs Your Pet Octopus is Out of Control"
In the anime stuff, I've been the voice of Shaka the Gold Saint of Virgo in the 80's "classic" Saint Seiya, and did the voice of Crash from Megazone 23 part III, all from ADV here in Houston. I've also become a bit of a minor local celebrity on the Texas anime convention circuit as "The Tentacle Guy", dragging a stuffed giant squid to conventions and taking pictures of it wrapped around random con goers.
I am quite happily taken by the lovely and talented Awkward, who is way too far away, in that far-off magical land called Canada. I know you've all heard the myths, and let me tell you, they are all true. Moose drive cars, beavers are part of the government, and there are artists there who draw comics about tentacle monsters.. and get this.. there are women who love them.
Squidflakes, God-Emperor of the Tentacles.
He demands obeisance in the form of oral sex, or he'll put you at the mercy of his tentacles. Even after performing obeisance, you might be on the receiving ends of tentacles anyway. In this case, pray to Sodomiticus to intercede on your behalf.

Okay, since he put that in, I don't feel so bad about admitting it myself. *chuckles* Been reading since I was about three and half, according to my mother, and more or less taught myself (yes, I am a geek in that sense). Most of what he mentioned is what I read, except take out historical fiction and comics and put in romance novels. I gotta get me a good romance novel in order to feel complete in life. And now that I've admitted that, feel free to tell me how pathetic I am and bring on the tentacle rape!RavenxDrake wrote:I love reading, and have since I was young. Considering that I was young at very early age, I've been reading for some time. I adore Humour, horror, fantasy, science Fiction, historical fiction, history, mythology, and comics(eastern and western).

My name is Laura, I'm 16 and I live in Toronto, Ontario, Canada with my family. My parents are still married, though not always as happily as they used to be. Both my brother and sister are in university. My brother is 19, and although he is in university studying music and recording he is planning on dropping out very very soon, and this year is his first. My sister is 21 and in university out of the city and is studying archeology and classics. I don't have a close relationship with anyone in my family.
I'm bisexual and have had one girlfriend in the past and three boyfriends. I'm completely in love with my current long distance boyfriend Ryan AKA Squidflakes. Who has come to see me twice in the past year, first time was at the end of May and the last time was two and a half weeks ago, but it feels like it's been months since then. I miss him every day we're apart.
I'm in high school. I quite enjoy going to school because I love pretty much all of my courses, especially this year. This year I'm taking Math, English, Biology, Chemistry, American Sign Language, Ancient Civilizations, and Ceramics, which are great courses. I've never failed a course before, though I got close when I had a 17% in civics last year, but pulled it up to a 76% by the end of the year. I've only skipped classes a few times in grade 8, three years ago. The only thing I don't usually enjoy is the company of the majority of the other students at my high school though. I'm hoping to go into university for forensic toxicology or something related to that field. I love science.
I work some days after school and every weekend at a small book store called Half Price Books which is in my neighbourhood. I love to read. I mostly read murder mysteries, "horror", "teen fiction" and some sci fi. I really love the book Bill, the Galactic Hero by Harry Harrison, which is one of my all time favourite books. Another really good one is Dune by Frank Herbert, but I've only read the first out of the five or six books in the series.
I love pretty much all kinds of music including punk, pop-punk, rock, classic rock, 90s pop, techno, hip hop, happy hardcore, etc. Specifically right now I'm listening to a lot of the Doors, Devo, and the Bronx. The Doors are self explanitory, Devo is of course the band who play the song Whip It from the 70s/80s and the Bronx are a recent/current punk band from LA. I love going to concerts, especially punk concerts because they're exhausting and always a lot of fun as opposed to stadium concerts with seats and everything. But that's just my preference.
I'm a vegetarian of almost four years and I love animals. I'm one of those rare vegetarians who doesn't push my beliefs on people, which a lot of vegetarians do, and I also am aware of the health concerns involved with my lifestyle choice. I hate Peta because of their methods of trying to "educate" meat eaters of the "evils" of their ways. I try to eat as healthily and balanced as I can. The reason I don't push my beliefs on the people is because I'm smart enough to realize that it's just as bad as a meat eater pushing meat in my face and telling me how good meat is for me, which I appreciate people not doing.
I respect people and their choices, but only as long as they respect me and my choices in life.
Hmmm... I think that's about all I can say for now.
If there's anything else feel free to ask!

Ugh. I hate these "confessional" threads. Whoever thought this was a good idea should be fucked with a rusty nailbat.
I'm Matt. I'm 27, American by birth, Southern by the grace of God. I'm a Christian and a patriot, but that doesn't mean I'm a fundie or a right-wing fanatic.
I'm Christian by choice, not by upbringing, and it's very important to me that people have the freedom to choose their faith, their sexual orientation, and their way of life without judgement or prejudice. I believe in freedom.
I also believe in responsibility. I believe that adulthood comes when a person learns to take responsibility for his actions, not when his age clicks to a certain number.
I'm currently single, and it's at least partially my fault that my long-term relationship ended. I'm trying to learn from my father's example and reinvent myself into someone who's worthy of my ex-girlfriend, even though I know that she'll never be mine again. Working toward this goal will make me more worthy to be the partner of whomever I end up with next.
I'm currently unemployed, though my most recent major job was working for DMORT, the branch of FEMA responsible for finding, identifying, and releasing the remains of the victims of mass-fatality incidents. In this particular case, we were cleaning up after Katrina and Rita.
Hobbywise, I'm a huge geek. I collect Transformers, watch movies obsessively, love the new Battlestar Galactica, and run a Dungeons and Dragons game every Saturday. I'm a big fan of zombie movies, animation, Andre Norton books, and giant robots of all sorts.
I'm a heterosexual, though I have a special place in my heart for dickgirls, futanari, transsexuals, and women in strapons. I'm active in my local BDSM community, though not so much since my breakup. I'm a switch, but Dominant about 95% of the time.
I'm a cat person. I'm a shark enthusiast. I'm a 13-year veteran of the SCA. I'm a whitewater rafter. I don't do long-distance relationships. I love pirates. I love rock music. I thought the third Crow movie was pretty good. I think Laurell K. Hamilton is a hack and should spontaneously combust. I think most modern Libertarians are Republicans who don't want to admit it to their liberal friends. I hate rap music, especially when it's blaring out of people's cars. I'm funky.
No, seriously. I need a shower.

I take no small amount of offense at that for a couple reasons. Number one being that it's not a confession, number two being that you don't have to participate if you don't want to, and number three being go fuck a duck.Slander wrote:Ugh. hmmm......
I am Bill. I'm 19, mildly bisexual (prefer women by a lot), a switch (dominant 95% of the time, though the girlfriend says the rough, kinky stuff she likes doesn't constitute S&M), a history and education major, sophomore in college.
Big geek, I'm in charge of board and wargames at my college's gaming club, looking at becoming a real officer next year. Right now my primary game is called Giant Monster Rampage, which uses toy monsters to recreate the feel of Japanese giant monster movies. Speaking of which, I just got back from playing, and got my ass handed to me by fucking Gamera.
I'm in a long-term, long-distance monogamous relationship with the most wonderful woman I've ever had the fortune to encounter. She's bisexual, nymphomaniacal, swallows without being asked, and likes it when I take naked pictures of her.
Also, I can't taste the difference between Pepsi, Coca-Cola, and Generic Cola.

Oh no no no, you must've misunderstood. He's a dom, "fucked with a rusty nailbat" is a compliment. And uhhh "hate" means "love". But really, Slandy poo isn't so bad, but he comes off as an ass sometimes.JohnnyTwoEyes wrote:I take no small amount of offense at that for a couple reasons.
