Opera are making a web browser for the Nintendo DS. Like what the PSP supports, except done properly. It's just a normal sized game cartridge that slots into the DS and you're ready for viewing your favourite comicgen comics wherever there's a Wi-Fi connection available, whether it be a hotspot or off your own wireless router. I'm drooling.

I've got a DS Lite but Wi-fi stuff isn't really widespread enough around here to make the browser worth it...the only place I'd be able to use it is in my house, and if that were the case I'd just use my regular computer.

Still, that DS Lite is one fine piece of gaming hardware!

It sure is. New Super Mario Bros and Dawn of Sorrow are pretty awesome so far. And the battery lasts much much longer than the PSP battery. And I can execute diagonals without having to think about it. And it's actually durable.

Yeah...

...I've got NSMB and Phoenix Wright so far and both are high quality entertainment. I'm hoping the new Starfox coming out soon is actually good.

You must buy Metroid Prime Hunters. It's amazing, and a brilliant example of what the DS is capable of if the developers take it seriously. As for the Wi-Fi, it's pretty widespread around london. There are very few places I can go that I can't connect. Except my house that is. I have Wi-Fi built into my computer but I just can't seem to get it to actually work.

This is why I'm excited at the DS Browser. I could post on these forums while I was on the bus.

This browser intrigues me greatly. And I'll have to try Metroid Prime. I'm suprised a game like that translates to the DS as well as people say. I want to finish Castlevania first though.

How the hell do you get to world 4 in NSMB!? I skipped from 3 to 5 somehow.

I wept at how mediocre Starfox Adventures was, as I expect more from a Nintendo franchise like that, especially since the frist two were groundbreaking. I hope the new one makes up for it too.

In my opinion, Starwing was the greatest of the Starfox games, being the original and all. Metroid Prime Hunters really does work fantastically well, although it could use more save points. It's not really a pick up and play kinda game, as you need to set some time aside for it, cause it could be 45 minutes before you get to save again. Other than that, it's just a brilliat game that takes the best of the Metroid series and slaps it into a first person shooter, WITH MULTIPLAYER.

And to save you from pulling out your hair, to get to worlds 3 and 5, you need to finish the castle boss before it as mini Mario. You then take a different route upon the boss's demise, and get to those frustratingly unreachable worlds.

Heh yeah, Starwing. I heard it had to be changed because Starfox was too similar to an existing comapny called Star Vox. I think Starfox 64 was called Lylat Wars as well.

Too bad we don't have the fancy technological voodoo like Japan does in order to get the TV tuner, too.

But browsing will be nice. Especially with the touch screen, it should be a lot simpler than what I imagine the PSP's interface to be. 30-something bucks, and my DS is a lot easier to carry around than a laptop. I can't wait

My question is this: is anyone (especially those of you who might have gaming-comics) going to make a special DS version of your page much like VGCats has a PSP-sized version? I am planning on it, even though the browser supposedly can show things at real-sized, I like the thought that someone could read my comic on thier DS. And anyway, I have to support Nintendo. I love them so.

P.S. If you think the TV tuner is cool, you should invest in a Play-Yan. The off-brand one is only like $25.00 and comes ready to play movies, MP3s, eBooks, and even certain Famicom emulations. I mean, I don't really use the DS for movies, but it's nice to know I can when I need to, and it saved me almost $200 extra dollars.

P.P.S. Phoenix Wright was friggin awesome. I can't wait for the (confirmed for DS) sequel. Also, LOZ: Phantom Hourglass = totally badass

i lost both my styluses. so i use my tablet stylus at home now

this reminds me of the sadness that my DS has no battery charge, and the plug for my charger is totally different voltage

Same here! First game console of any kind I've bought since the original GBA, too. The GBA I used for about a week (if that), hopefully the DS will keep my interest a little longer.

Sounds like someone who knows the pain.

The worse part however is that everyone else has DS, making bringing it to an outing with friends quite pointless. The only other people I know that have them are technophiles who mainly have it just to look at and say it's cool.
