Thanks. :) I just think I'm better at soft shading. I just didn't think that soft shading fit the picture.

:) I'm playing with an idea that has to do with computer tools inside the computer. I hope it'll work out.

Playing around with some new characters for something fun I whipped up recently.

This is Air.
Eventually I may give her a cooler-sounding name, but meh.

Whoo, I finished inking and coloring it! I even shaded it, too! ^-^

Oh, and since people here seem to be thinking with their sex drives, I made two versions - one with the symbol and one with the hole in her cleavage. ^_~

Playing with greytone markers. I wub them so much - but I need new black markers, they keep dying on me.

Currently colouring this. 'Tis fun, it comes pre-shaded!

Air looks really good, Laurel.

Anyway; for next year's Canadian Comic Expo in Toronto I was to present a fantasy girl pin-up book called "Grimoirum Fantasia" alongside my White Hydra stuff.

I always wanted to draw a naga girl, so decided to choose that first. Anyone have any ideas to improve it?

I'd definitely go for a bit of chest armor to cover up the breasts, or else it looks slightly incomplete.

This page has been especially boobylicious... I love it

*edit*

I experimented by drawing characters a bit cartoonier than I'm used to. Thought this guy was cute.

And I'm working on a picture I call "Family Portrait". This is a close up of whats done so far. Once it's finished, it'll take up an a4 sheet, filled with all the positive influences in my life.

Well, you could try going for the 4 arm thing. Lots of Naga have 4 arms. Also, you probably don't have to do chest armor, though you could, but I think I have to agree with the face being a bit off. I think it's because there's a lot of curves on this character, much moreso than on your other characters, so the very angled face looks kinda offset to it. Maybe round the chin a little bit? I know the sharp angles are a trademark of your style, and I've enjoyed your other artwork a lot. But with the curvy snake body and stuff, it just doesn't seem to fit well. Maybe it's just me.

Anyway, maybe you can try a jewled belt of some sort? Not like a regular one, but just maybe a chain around the waist with jewels on it for some flavor? I suggest this over the chest armor because it would be lower on the character. Since the snake body has no armor or dressings, I would think that chest armor might make the character too top-heavy. A waist item would give it a more balanced feel as most of the armor on the character are on the extremidies (Head and wrists). I think a waist item would fit that theme better. Just some suggestions.

I was actually considering the four arms on the naga girl, but wasn't sure if I should because I want to do a multi-armed woman in the book as tribute to a piece by one of favorite artists (Brom) called Soul Forge. I also have that art piece on deck protector sleeves for my M:tG deck from Ultra Pro :p

I really like the belt idea though - it solves my problem of connecting the torso to the snake tail. I'm also aiming to make her a little Egyptian and Arabic inspired in costume because, as with all the fantasy girls in this book, her race will be eventually shown in White Hydra. In this case I'm thnking that nagas are bound servants in tombs to the desert dwelling people in the badlands on the continent in which the story of White Hydra takes place.

If I do decide to give her four arms, do you think it would fit better if I gave her three fingers?

Nah. I think the four fingers is fine, even with 4 arms. And if you're going with an egyptian theme then yes, definately leave off the chest armor. Egyptian women often went topless just like the men did, and since she's not heavily armored to begin with it wouldn't fit as well. Though I do think you should round the face a bit. You could still keep a pointed chin, but just curve the lines of the cheek a bit instead. I think by doing that it may fit the rest of the picture better. If you don't like it you could always change it back.

I tried drawing again today. I can't sit still nor can I use a desk yet so I'm stable enough to draw well or ink. I doodled stuff from Disgaea and the Sorta Chicken and I dealing with a zombie/dolphin hybrid.
