Personnatly, I find it particuliary stupid. You don't do it just before quit under the mood of the moment. Quentyn should have did that like, two weeks ago. Now even if she has a good reaction, ther are no time to built a true relationship. There are time when you have to control youself. LIke Kestrel said, this was too few, too late.
Anyway, how many thing that the memorial painting will should Meribeth and Quentyn morenear and lovers like? People love romancing and improving the stories afterall.
Quoique tout dépend de comment elle va réagir.
S.P.P.

Good grief. He merely gets the gumption to kiss the prettiest girl in the village before he leaves, and half of you have him making commitments of undying love for all eternity.

Welcome to the wonderful world of 'shipping, Ralph. Let's just be thankful it didn't degenerate into a flamewar.RHJunior wrote:Good grief. Flamewar? Forget that, let's just be thankful we don't have any Rahan/Kessie shippers. On the plus side, maybe she could hammer him into shape...LoneWolf23k wrote:Welcome to the wonderful world of 'shipping, Ralph. Let's just be thankful it didn't degenerate into a flamewar.

Woooooooooooooooooooooooo, good job Q!!!!!!!!!!1
Yes, sir. I agree completely. It takes a well-balanced individual... such as yourself to rule the world. No, sir. No one knows that you were the third one... Solidus. ...What should I do about the woman? Yes sir. I'll keep her under surveillance. Yes. Thank you. Good-bye...... Mr. President.
Break Meribeth's heart? What about Kes? Surely I'm not the only one expecting to see a crying Kes next comic, or very soon after? Unless she did hide on the luftship and missed all this... Somehow, I think she saw.jwrebholz wrote:The sad thing is that even if Meribeth did have feelings for him, this'll probably break her heart...

I guess that we didn't consider this alternative because it would have Quentyn treating her like an object just like those louts in the bar who openly stare at her bosom and who slap her behind.RHJunior wrote:Good grief. Being a romantic I expected Quentyn to only kiss a girl - especially in public! - if he had true feelings for her.
All that aside, I wonder how much older than Quentyn she is, and how significant such an age gap is taken in this society.

A few thoughts and questions:
1) Meribeth's reaction will either be immediate or delayed. If she thinks for even a moment, it won't be negative. (I can't see her knowingly sending off the questor who's saving the village by attempting a virtual suicide mission with a slap.) But how would she react to Quentyn's return, with (Ralph) knows how long to think about it?
2) Could this be something to keep Kes' almost-kiss from ever happening again? (And what eventually made Quentyn realize that Kes almost kissed him that night? The strip didn't say the letter he wrote her asking about it came immediately after his realization.)
3) What will Rahan's reaction be to hearing Quentyn kissed Meribeth? Will he decide to "beat his time" and attempt to court Meribeth?
4) Ralph - TURN THAT INTO A POSTER!
All in all, the Questor is going to set off in classic style. Kiss the girl, then off into the mists.
(One last question - have there been enough pages added to make Quentyn's departure the end of the second print volume of TotQ?)
