Holy Pigeons von Poops Batman, I'm back!

Post by Ignacio »

I pitched this comic back in January to you guys. Since then, I've hit 73 strips in the archive, I graduated college, and I took a month off from the comic strip. Now that I'm done being a bum, I'm back! I'd love to get new readers too, so if you like this sample strip, check it out!

The comic srip currently updates Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, but given how much time I might get in the future, I may formally change that to more down the line.

As a general note, there may be four or five "college" type strips in here, including one that seems the strip is saying goodbye. Since this ran in the school paper while I attended, those were taylored to events going on in school (including graduation). Since I'm done with school though, we won't be seeing any more of those ;) Enjoy!

Now this I like. The style and drawing is very good, and the humour suits it. You've got yerself a new reader.

Hopefully to already knew I was a reader, but I've wandered back across now that June's arrived. Good to see you starting up again. There's something innocent and light hearted and just easily accessible about Trout that I like.

One thing I've been meaning to mention for a while though...the layout. I like it, but the title and some of the text and stuff goes over the dark blue edges and is tricky to read. Sort of spoils the effect.

Good to see you return.

Cheers.

I'm glad you folks like it!

As far as the layout Dutch, I am painfully aware of the problems, and as soon as I figure web layout a little better, I'm planning on giving the site a major overhaul. When I made the site, I really knew nothing, and now at least I know next to nithing. Definitely on the to-do list.

I read through your archive, I've got your comic bookmarked. Now, (since this is like critique and review area right?) I did enjoy the comedy, and the characters (especially the worm), but I'm afraid it doesn't really stand out very much. There are a lot of interesting comics out here, and yours holds up in the art department no question. I'm just not sure if it has enough of a difference to the humor and writing to make a big splash. The only advice here is to tighten up the jokes a bit, run with some of the more unique ideas a bit more. That's all.

Overall, very fun read, thank you!

I'd say it's a fun and easy, inoffensive read. That makes it pretty unique, I'd think... :)

Thank you for the critique, I appreciate very much. It's actually something I feel i do face as an obstacle as well; for a time now I've felt I still haven't pegged the right kind of humor for it. I've got morre of a handful of comic strips written that I'm inking right now which i hope help me establish the comic strip more. What I mean by establish is maybe flesh out the universe the characters live in a little more. I think that may be what's been biting me in the butt, that I don't think I have a concrete universe established for them that makes the strip unique yet. I want to keep the humor that I have going - like Dutch said, I like the innocent humor. But what distinguished strips like Calvin and Hobbes and Sherman's Lagoon is that their humor was well written and appropriate enough for the world they lived in. I think ( I hope) I can develop this over time. Frankly, I think it can only be done with experience and time, but I've got my fingers crossed that I'll get it down. Thanks for the bookmarks guys, and always feel free to e-mail me if you ever have anything to say about the strip!

This is one of the best comics I've ever seen online!

Amazing! Keep up the good work!
