How attached are you to your comic?
So I'm curious, for those who are hosted on comicgenesis or similar service how you view your comic in the long term?
Is your comic something you'll continue to update until the day you die? Or is it a trial run before you attempt something at a more "professional" level. Do you want to leverage your current comic into a more prominent place like keenspot or blank label? Do you have an ending planned for you comic?
Just curious.

It's a very important test for me. I've advanced quite a bit in both writing and drawing because of it and it continues to be a field in which I can challenge myself. But I do have an ending in mind and getting to that ending is part of the test, to show that I can finish a project and tell the entire story the way I want to tell it.
Though I wouldn't mind getting onto a bigger hub, I don't see that happening.

Then again, I suck at dropping bad habits. D:
I've had the ending planned for a long time, and I think I'm about halfway there now. Although I'm quite determined to finish my comic, I intend to drop it like a bad habit when I'm done.

I plan to update until I run out of ideas. After that? Well, I've got a couple of half-baked ideas, but we'll see.
But in either case I plan to stick with Comic Genesis. This is a hobby for me, and I don't need the pressure of "deadlines" or "artistic talent" upon me. Unless someone really wants to pay me for it.

It'ssssss miiiiine. My baby. Were someone to threaten its safety, I would maim them. Perhaps kill. Well, not really, but I'm allowed to violently fantasize, right? I'm very committed to my comic, but at the same time I realize over committment can lead to burn out. I know when a break's good for me, and I'm not afraid to take one.

I've committed myself to telling the story I wanted to tell that I came up with back in 2003. Now that I'm committed, I'm locked into doing the last "two" seasons come hell or high water. Weither I can get it done in the two years I thought it would take, or rather it takes me 10 years at the rate I'm going, it doesn't matter.
The real question in my mind is if the two follow up series that I had brewing in my mind will be green lit, or weither or not ABH is going to be all I'll ever do.

It's my first and at this stage probably only comic. I don't see a reason for it to end at any stage soon, although no doubt there will come a time. After that who can possibly know, but these kids are my little mates and I really do enjoy their company. Whether it goes on to be something bigger, that's not really the point.
You do your best by them and all you really want is that it grows up properly, eh?

My first, and DEFINITELY, my only comic. I'm rather fond of it, because it's the humor in my life passed on to others. I'll keep updating as long as I'm able to and the ideas are coming. If I do ever end it, it'll probably be because circumstances in my life don't permit me to keep contributing to it. Hopefully that won't happen and countless funny things will continue to happen to me for everyone to enjoy.

Doing one comic to the rest of my life? I'd want to kill myself of boredom halfway there.
I intend to tell as many interesting and weird stories as I can get. My plan is to do various comics, all of them with particular ending in mind.
I am currently on GraphicSmash and WCN, and I haven't planned further than that, although I guess it'd be nice to be popular and get somekinda awards and whatnot.
Also to master drawing and colouring. That certainly.

Comic Attachment?
PoF is something I do as a hobby.
I have an idea for a 'professional' comic book. I just need to buy the posterboard and airbrush materials. (Come to think of it I can do that right now with the money from my tax rebate.)
I've also been contemplating doing a strip that isn't doujinshi. An original that's just for the web. Lots of graphic maiming and beheadings that I really don't think I could sell in paperback format. Also some mature themes and fantasy war with one dragon a host of monsters and a demon. The main character would be a fifteen year old girl summoned from earth. But in a departure from how these things usually work she would be absolutely against fighting. More gothic horror than fantasy adventure.

I figure I better chime in with my view.
Duchess Mew is a wonderful learning experiance for me so far. I love writing it. Chapter 2 has really begun to write itself practically. Once both my wife and I graduate we'd like to invest more time with it.
I'm currently developing two ideas into webcomic scripts that I'd like to see the light of day. But they will probably have to wait until I graduate.

White Hydra has enough plot to endure at least five years, and I aim to develop an entire world around it.
Being the megalomaniac I am I dream of a world dominated by my product. Toys, TV shows, live action movies, video games, MMORPGs, CCGs... yes... YES!! MWA HA HA HA! MWA HA HA HA HA HA HA!
In all seriousness I'm sticking with White Hydra for the next several years, though I may pitch some of my other ideas to different companies (Like my Fatima 6:10 idea).
Semi-inspired by M2's new pin-up book I was considering doing a fantasy art book as well, the art inspired by the world of White Hydra.
