I would like to point out that when one stops following Buddhism - that is, rejecting the teachings as a terrorist would - one stops being a Buddhist no matter one's claims.
The most important part is the conviction and dedication to the teachings. Not harming and preventing the harming of life is the very first of the Precepts, in fact.
Hell, I could declare myself one right now with the proper formal statement, but if I failed to be dedicated to the course, I would be lying.

We have a winner! You're exactly right, Jachra; to become a terrorist in the name of a religion based on non-violence is itself an abrogation of that religion. The same goes for "Army of God", "al-Qaeda", "Taliban", and other such organizations. For such people, religion is nothing more than a robber's mask and a convenient excuse. And, after all...

Thank you kindly. Although I would also point out that for many terrorists (almost certainly the grunts,) they whole-heartedly believe they are the morally righteous and correct. Not that I in any way agree with 'em. Gross misinterpretations of religious texts is not something I enjoy.

In the (unlikely) event that anyone cares, yes, it can be annoying making sure I provide all these assorted disclaimers. ;D Being of the unestablished sort, I have to ensure that I present the strongest possible ethos and a scrupulously clean format. An accidental assumption of trolldom for a careless remark or a misinterpreted statement would prove somewhat...unfortunate. Soviet Minister who Stalin mistakenly believes is plotting against him unfortunate.

Even in the "peaceful" Islamic communities, here in America and elsewhere in the western world. We have honor killings, gang rapes, and hate crimes committed against Jews, <I>right here in the united states, by those "peaceful" muslims you are so enamored of.</i>

And still you believe in the fairy tale of the "religion of peace" and that it is only a "belligerent minority" committing these atrocities--- somehow, magically, without the aid, support, or approval of the very religious community that birthed them.

Any effort spent communicating with you on this subject, trying to get you to acknowledge the material reality right in front of you, could be just as productively spent teaching a pig to sing.
