Daily Strip Discussion

PatchworkEveryone's a hero in their own forums. And in their favorite forums. Alright, fine, maybe just in this forum. Shush.

For some reason this latest announcement didn't surprise me.

Don't ask me why, but I understand what you mean. I mean, I was and still am a writer first and spriter second, but I let my own comic die... and that's not just because of the server crashing. It's a huge commitment, and I feel your pain.

Still... Patchwork Heroes was the Sprite Comic that started all Sprite Comics for me, and I will miss it sorely.

I can't help but think the end of that message was in reference to Squidi. =/, I don't really want the comic to die, but I can understand you wanting to kill Order of the Thorns in favour of another story. Really, I think you were over-reaching trying to do completely original art from the begining. An easier approach is just to "phase in" original material over time, and continue using ripped sets for now. Thats my take on it anyways.

Well, I can't deny that I was at least thinking of poor ol' Squidi a little bit. I was quite sad when he gave up on spriting completely.

Original stuff's not too hard most of the time; the harder issue was really the story.

I don't know exactly when the new comic starts. I'm hoping early January. I've got a few sprites done, and am plugging away in and around holiday stuff. :)

On a happy note, with the fall of PH comes the rebirth of Dragon Tails(much like the pheonix). Since DT hasn't disapointed me yet, I'll assume I can count on you to make a come back.

Edit: and yes, one thing Squidi pointed out when he did Star Ship Destiny is that he started with too many characters. Might have been your problem as well. Pacing that is.

So this is what the new comic is? A 'City of Heroes' thing? Well, that's just how it looks, we'll have to wait and see if it turns out to be more than that.

They have had superheroes for longer than that video game was around. ;)

In all seriousness, Patchwork Champions is about superheroes and supervillains, and it is going to be funny a lot when I can manage it, because I like funny things. But I'm hoping that the characters will be fun, and there will be plots and stories and the like. :)

The stat readout reminds me of TTA, a longstanding flash animation comic thinggy.

First 30 eps are on newsgrounds: http://www.newgrounds.com/portal/view/188938

And the rest are here: http://tta.fireball20xl.com/

Well, that's true, but I did enjoy the fantasy setting of the first two Patchwork Heroes stories. Just a personal preference, I suppose.
Say, did you get my e-mail about my webcomic being online now?

Thank you. :)

You guys ARE aware that you can make your own threads to post things in, though, right?

Yeah, Comic Genesis got snazzy when no one was looking. ;) Admittedly, this has been on their main page for a bit, but it's nice to see it in the forums.

Thankee. :)

It's a lot of fun to work with the somewhat casual nature of the opposition between our heroes and villains. ;)
