It originally ran in the school newspaper, and it was due in a few minutes. "The End of Things" was all that came to my mind, and I kept it when I put it on the net.

Well, let's see if I remember. It was a while ago after all....hmm. Ah, okay. Well, I was thinking about what to call, my comic, of course, and since my comic consisted of three women, I thought about things that would related to the number 3. None of those ideas were cool, so I just chose the word "circle" since it kinda related to the story.

Like King Arthur and his knights...
Queen Arcadia and her knights...see? Makes sense, sorta.

I added "Arcadia" to the end of it, and thus the title of my comic was born. I add a subtitle, to make new people sorta get even more, and there you go. The title of my comic.

"Circle Arcadia: Knights of the Goddess".
Plus, it sounded cool to me... >_>

"Reasoned Cognition" is the mental process of knowing, including such aspects as awareness, perception, reasoning, and judgement, as brought on by an explanation given in a logical and persuasive manner.

What better name for an educational science comic?

Besides, it wasn't taken. :)

Denial is not falsification. You can't avoid a fact just because you don't like it.
"Data" is not the plural of "anecdote"

It was the title of an impulse graphic novel, a biography of JFK and a wrestler, I believe its some band as well. I fought them for it.

It was ... uh, the name of my fantasy world...

And my newest one is just an effort to sound long and stupid and pretentious...

Strip Poker: Prosaic, but to the point.

Sex Percussions: It was mentioned in a naming contest, I saw, bugged the creator to use it, and he let me.

Hinami Neon: It's cyberpunk, so I used "Neon" as a tribute to Gibson (and a nod to the Neon Crysanthemum). There's a holiday in Japan that's for remembrance (when the cherry trees blossom); the theme was dealing with the past, so "Hinami" felt right.

My other scripts:

Brass Ring: The theme is that there is always a second chance; ever been to the Santa Cruz carousel?

Hope's Last Stand: Bad Pun: A woman (named Hope) who is trying to get a hamburger stand up and going.

Chinese Chess: I like it, so I used it as a title. Had nothing to do with the story (a lieutenant negotiating a peace treaty with a dragon).

Miner's Glory: I'm allowed a random title, right? And it's a western...

Shorn Wool: You've heard of the Three Fates, right? One spins the wool into thread, one cuts it, and the last weaves it, yah? So...Where do they get it in the first place? It's about a group of college kids making their first major decisions in life.

If it helps...

Well, my comic is based on a series of dreams, where the main character (in at least one of them) was named Bat. Vedrblaka (the forum still won't let me accentuate his name properly) means bat. It's a saga. So, Vedrblaka's Saga, though it is as much My Laerkesdottir's as his.

Spriteville, USA

I was like, "Hey, what should I name my sprite comic?" and then I was like "How about Spriteville, USA" and that was about it...

Not a good example of naming but it was effective.

I can't remember how I came up with Those Destined, aside from the obvious fact that my main character is a fantasy 'destined hero'.

I do remember that I was counting on the title losing all meaning and not sounding funny anymore after I got used to it.

"mcDuffies" was the idea of one priend of mine, a pun on "mcDonald". I liked it better than other ideas that I had for title, so I used it.
"Little white knight", I had a lot of alternative names, but this one was the only out that sounded half decent.

I love to argue, usually doesn't matter what. So, because the comic is mainly about me and my friends, I decided to call it "I'm Always Right" as an acknowledgement about myself. Plus I like to do gags where someone is very wrong and offbase and it's funny.

Plus it makes the cool acronym IAR!

I knew I was going to do a Mac-themed comic, so I hunted down a list of all the different kind of apples and decided that Cortland sounded best. Coincidentally, there's a tiny town called Cortland some 15 miles south of Lincoln. I visited there once. It was very cool seeing my comic's name printed on a water tower!
