Need Artists!
Two Sparrows Productions is looking for a small cabal of people to produce some webcomics. Payment is a share of any profits generated.
Sex Percussions: A 1930's Vancouver has to deal with an angry fertility goddess. A lot of anime/manga in-jokes, very pulpy. We need a colorist. 45-pg script (sequel already being plotted).
Hinami Neon: Cyber-punk. Need whoever is interested; we have a writer, but that's it. Projected 300 page script.
Strip Poker: Some friends get together for a CD-release party, and end up baring their souls. Artist needed. Level of nudity and either straight or gay are up to the artist. 50-pg script.
If you are interested, e-mail mountainmistrecords@yahoo.com!

There really is no place to post "looking for artist" things because:
1-Nearly everyone here has their own projects to do.
2-Any artist who doesn't have a project is likely starting one up.
3-People are hesitant to work with somebody they don't even know.
This is a webcomics community so it stands to reason most people have their own comics to work on.

Not all writers can draw, but all artists can write. Not well, but that hasn't stopped most of them from trying anyway.
Also, if the writer can't draw, maybe they should consider a different medium for their work. Neal Stephenson's book Snow Crash was originally supposed to be a graphic novel but his artist flaked so he wrote it as a novel and it turned out to be one of the pinnacles of its genre. Think about that one.
Also... *blows something up*

By that logic, all writers can draw as well, it's just that some of them draw crappily. (see Unfettered By Talent) Neither one necessitates or precludes skill in the other. But I've seen what some artists write, and it's NOT pretty.

Oh well, what do I know. I don't really read many comics that have good writing but bad art. I'm kind of fickle like that. On the other hand, I definitely don't stick with comics that have good art and bad writing for long.
I'm going to hold to my other point that if a person has one skill or the other, but not both, and no partner with complimentary skills, they should probably find another medium to express themselves in. How's that?
