The thread of Funny

A place for myself to post the comics storyline in prose form, plus a current comic discussion and most likely some random threads.

The thread of Funny

Post by Garneta »

We could always use a bit more laughter. So here's a thread to post funny things whether they be a joke, a quote, a picture, a link to a video, or even a whole website in its entirety. Anything!

I've always enjoyed watching the Headlines section of the Tonight Show, so I'll post one of them:

Oh, there used to be a TV show over here where they did something like that.
They called it quickies.
One the my favorites was:
"He, 37, looks for a woman - am widowed for the third time. Hobbies: going on mushroom forays, cooking"

some of the things that I find to be funny are rather surreal and random, and tend to make most "normal" people go "wtf?", but...

here are a few things that I find to be funny. :D

Yeah, move you feet is a great song!

The second one isn't surreal or random, though.
It's still funny.
I think it's originally a joke by The Three Stooges.

Yeah, the third one is absolutely surreal and randon.
It's cool nontheless.

The Shining one up there reminded me of this Office Space one.

...I'd forgotten about this thread.

Oh, I love the AVGN (in a platonic and totally non-gay way)!

Heh...there's a thread about that in the main forums right now! I still have only actually watched one of them (final fantasy based one) but it was quite good!

One year I had a by-day calendar of stupidest things ever said. I saved this page, and it's up on my refrigerator:

On Eating Tomatoes, Extreme Dangers of:

Dr. James van Meeter, speaking in 1830 to a crowd in Salem, Massachusetts, about Colonel Robert Gibbon Johnson, who was going to publicly eat a tomato

The foolish colonel will foam and froth at the mouth and double over with appendicitis. All that oxalic acid, in one dose, and you're dead. If the Wolf Peach [tomato] is too ripe and warmed by the sun, he'll be exposing himself to brain fever. Should he, by some unlikely chance, survive, I must warn him that the skin...will stick to his stomach and cause cancer.

Didn't they used to say that you shouldn't eat watermelon because it grew in the night air and that will give you malaria? I'm just going by my Little House on the Prairie knowledge.

Of course they stopped growing!!! That makes as much sense as witches being made out of wood. Where is your brain today, Kat?
