Hmmm, free comics....

Alas, since I got out of college I pretty much left the comics scene... We had a couple awesome stores on campus has all the "other" companies: Dark Horse, Viz, Eclipse (When they were separate!) Albedo, and many others that have been and gone! =^^;

When we started roleplaying Champions the *Super* roleplaying game, I tried to get into X-Men, but that required buying half the Marvel lineup just to follow one story arc. Kinda gave up on that after a while...

I'm surprised to see what is out in the book stores now, a lot of cool stuff in graphic novels! =^^=

Unfortunately for me the nearest comic shop doing that is a few hundred miles away. (pity, I love free stuff)
Oh well, with the internet, every day is free-comic day.

As for today's installment...
I can't tell you how many times I've pondered the exact same thing. And being in collage there's no shortage of food for that thought.

If one is a genuinely mature adult, typically such fare is kept beyond the range of the proverbial ten foot pole!

I believe I know what you're talking about Tbolt. By "ancient rules of wisdom" you mean the "Ten Commandments".

The Ten Commandments are being taken out of our court houses, while phone sex ads continue to play on our TVs, all in the name of free speech.

Please do not take our confusion as a sign that you need to write more plainly. I like the poetic way you write when you feel passionate about something. Keep it coming.

Pornography helped end my sister's marriage. Some men have to realize that their wife is not their own private prostitute willing to do any bizarre thing just because you saw it in a pornographic video. It promotes unrealistic, unhealthy attitudes towards sex and unwholesome stereotypes. It is like a cancer that starts out small, but builds gradually over the years until it erupts in vile putrescence, destroying that which was beautiful and leaving pain and devastation in its wake.

One glance at a Playboy centerfold, or a chat with a "vivacious Vixen" online won't destroy your life, but it is the first step down into a deep dark pit that can be very difficult to climb back out of.

(Yes I am a little passionate about this! =^^; )

Yes I was referring to the ten commandments being torn off courthouse walls across the country. heh, I have a great prepared rant on that one, but limited time before I head off to work =^^;

Disagreement is Ok, debate is kinda pointless if both sides say "Yep that's right" all the time =^^=

I must admit, I'm a passive voice addict. I once read a paragraph in a story I wrote, and each of the seven sentences contained "was" as a verb-helper! =^.^;;;

Love the uniform in the top two panels! (Tempts me to bring out the old digitizer tablet adn add a little color, just to see if I could do it alright...)

When you rub out the colors, do you use a cloth, or your finger (couldn't really see on the video...)

I use the tip of my finger to blend and smudge the chalk pastels.

Really the right way to do it (if there can be a "right way") is to use a blending-stump. A blending-stump is like a tightly wound peace of paper that's so tight that the end can be sanded down to a dull tip and used to blend.

I do it the "wrong way" mostly for speed purposes. Which reminds me, I need to go buy some handy-wipes, so I don't have to keep licking the pastel off the ends of my fingers. (Ingesting that stuff can not be good for me)

I've done that with charcoal many times. Usually during a big project I end up with smears all over my face because I keep brushing back my hair.

The trick is, Indigo, to get good at using your wrists and forearms to push back unruly hair. It's a useful skill, haha. (^_^)

(ok, finally got reconnected)
Two updates back: I've used the "Too see what would happen" excuse so many times my parent's reaction went from the standard, angry "What were you doing!", to a heavy depressed sigh.
Especially after I (successfully) reanimated a recently deceased grasshopper with our electric fence, (I seen it get zapped by the fence earlier and after a few minutes of pokeing, I decided to give it a sustained burst from the main box).

Skip ahead to today:
I typically use a tissue or paper towel over my index finger for shading instead of a blending stump. Mostly because I seem to get a smoother gradient from that. or a clay eraser works well too.

Well the -recent- comic i want to comment about is the one about the character video. You did good work. I like seeing the beardless chin you did. though you would probably be hard pressed to find something to draw by me.
