No, but he just posted a comic recently, so I guess he's doing alright.

The problem for where I'm at is trying to find a station that plays something other then farm reports or hip-hop/rap stuff. I just want some good ol' rock and roll

Re: Recent Comics
I agree. I always wondered about what the artist was really thinking when I look at art. People read so much meaning into stuff while what they're looking at could have been his doodlepad.Tbolt wrote: sometimes it doesn't pay to over analyze! =^^=

Re: Recent Comics
I've seen a lot of abstract art in my time. A lot of it I have dismissed as being purposely vague, simply because the artist didn't actually have anything to say.
Still I have also seen a lot of abstract art that I really liked, but if you asked me why I liked them I would not get into the whole "art-interpretation" nonsense. I would simply say, "I like it because it looks cool."

Haha, I love over-interpreted art, be it paintings, drawings, poems, music, stories, etc.
That's my reason for most of the things I create. I just think it's cool. (^_^)Sharkfin wrote:I would simply say, "I like it because it looks cool."

I wonder if that implies that she usually feels like an artificial woman.

Ah, the old cliche....
My preferred take is:

I like the thermonuclear device one, aussi, Tbolt.
I must be boring; I just say, "Here it is" and move on, heh.

Sketching in the shower, I don't know if that's a really cool idea, or TMI! =^^;

My best ideas come to me in the shower and 90% of the time they're gone by the time I'm done toweling, haha, so I definitely understand. You have no idea how often or how seriously I have contemplated doing exactly the same thing. Not to draw, though, just to write down things.

Oi, I have a few horror stories to tell of that lot. Most involving HP. Somewhere would be freezing solid if I let anyone have remote internet control of my comp, just to install some (BLEEP) drivers.

Re: Recent Comics
The best part is, as I watched Pittsburgh die as mill after mill closed, sending thousands of men out of work, the talking heads from the media all said: "Retrain, you'll get new jobs! It's no biggie that America is losing its industrial base, that means that we will have cleaner air and water! You can all work in the service industry, those jobs will never get outsourced!"
Right. Pittsburgh is still a near jobless wasteland, and tech support has gone overseas. I want to hit my high school and college economic teachers in the head. When there's no work in America we all starve and die.

Re: Recent Comics
Why must people be weird about getting older? My dad will turn 50 this year, doesn't look it, and still acts like a teenager.

Re: Recent Comics
Better warn the fire department beforehand about all those candles.
Remember, you're only as old as you feel. My great-grandma always had the enthusiasm of someone half her age; she only just admitted to being (a little bit) old at her party a couple weeks ago.
(Hint for how long it took for her to say it, she's 4 in binary. no kidding)

Re: Recent Comics

That is all.
Re: Recent Comics
Does this trip the PG rating meter?
I think part of the deal about getting old is that this is a youth based culture. Look at commercial TV. It is all about young people acting young. If someone is older, they want to act young. Hollywood is full of folks that can't stand the process of getting old, and do every unnatural thing in their power, spending tons of cash to try to maintain that barely-legal 18 year old look.
I despise the entire McDonald's line of commercials where the middle-aged father is dumped on perpetually as a complete ass.
Hollywood hates aging. It doesn't understand that there is more to life than yiff, booze, and driving stupid in your european deathtrap of a car.
This message brought to you by a bitter old guy! =^^=
