Hi, I'm Calli's brother or at least the real one, I don't know if she will have one in the comic. I am also the creater of the flying seals (hink my forum name). I have to give Calli credit too because she came up with the large flippers and how they looked when drawn. Don;t be surprise if I mispell alot because I have bad spelling. I hope to talk in the POCKET forum again soon

(crouches back from Miss Scott's wrath) "I was just making a joke! HONEST!" (remembers the thread where she stated her dislike of coffee quite clearly...) And it's true- Starbucks, (Like many cancers) spreads quickly into an area, and the neighborhood promptly takes a nosedive... the bottled forms are even more insidious- they sell for waaaay too much, and taste like they're cut with chalk. Given a choice between a cup of Starbucks (anything) and a cup of warm piss, I'd have to flip a coin. It's that bad.
------------------

And for the record, I can't understand how ANYone can *like* to drink coffee -- the stuff tastes like pure charcoal. Probably the caffeine addiction, which is why places like $tarbucks can make it so expensive.
I *hate* going somewhere, anywhere, and the first thing they offer you is coffee. At the car repair place "would you like some coffee while you wait?" at work "want to go for a cup of coffee?" (and that irritates me because I've worked with these same people for OVER a year and a half), go over to my girlfriend's parents' house "can we get you some coffee?" (okay, they know now, but when they first met me they didn't), go to a family function "would you like some coffee?" (even though my family KNOWS I hate coffee)... the list goes on and on. It is indeed frustrating for the minority of people like Calli and I who hate coffee with a passion.
At least offer me some other options: "coffee, tea, juice?"
But no.
I've learned to deal with it, I guess.

That's why when I get to drink coffee, I like to prepare it myself. It's always Nescafe. one SMALL spoon of it, plus three of sugar.
Some day someone brought coffee in grains to the office. Man, that certainly tastes like charcoal.
------------------

hey, now... Certainly Starbucks(tm) tastes a lot like charcoal-except, maybe, with a bit of quinine added, and, most "Standing" coffee (like at auto-repair shops, etc.) tastes similar (though not as strong), but that's because it's burnt. Properly made coffee doesn't taste like charcoal-it tastes like "Coffee smell", and that's with no additives. Of course, very few people can make it properly-and certainly none of those idiots at Starbucks(tm) can make it properly. Tea, on the other hand, is usually made "too weak" for my tastes as well... Maybe it is caffeine addiction?
Then again, I understand the stuff's not for everyone-and it shouldn't be, could you imagine what the world would be like if everyone liked the same stuff? We'd all be reading "Garfield" and thinking the recycled jokes are still funny...
------------------

Because you care? Because you know we've noticed that you've been missing again?
Because it feels good to Vent some of the frustration? (I know the feeling too-been blocked since Monday Night, can't focus when I look at the paper, can't even get 'basic figures' right...) Maybe it's because you just need someone to know? I hope it gets better for you, things appear to have been hard enough.
------------------

Hello, again...
I've not drawn anything in days. Anything. And I'm downright -stuck- for what to do to carry on the storyline.
Also I'm in one of those moods where I just wanna crawl under a rock and stay there (in this case, I crawl into my room and stay there most of the day, not just to sleep.)
Why am I even saying this...

I think that since we some how changed the topic to coffie that maby we should just open a whole new post just on coffie and maby one about our problems since we keep on doing these two.
What do you all think?
by the way. don't worry too much about Calliope, she was like this earlyer sometime when she came back from college and she did get better so I think she might get better from what ever it is in a few days, but I could be wrong.
Sorry for bad spelling and if any of what I just didn't make sense

Calliope:And I'm downright -stuck- for what to do to carry on the storyline.
Don't do this unless you're sure, as it confuses readers:
When I feel like that - quite often lately - I just try to wrap the story to a point, and switch to another subject, coming back to the previous one when I feel ready to.
That another subject may or may not be something directly related by the story you're telling. Someday I just pulled a series of meaningless but cute pictures, which don't help directly to the storyline but may help describe some of your new characters, for example.
Just a suggestion, actually.
Calliope:... I've yet to garner a single female fan
I thought I had the same problem until I recently received independent feedback from at least four female readers. It's just that (i think) most women don't like to register to message boards, even more when all posters are male. Possibly because they think "why register and publicly post a message that's only for the cartoonist?". It's just a psychological theory; on the other hand, most men don't care about talking publicly; that's what I think.
Flying Seal: What do you all think?
I think the coffee thing isn't that relevant to be given its own thread. I didn't came here to talk about coffee; I came here because of Calliope and her comic.
------------------

Luchito has a point about why Calliope dosen't have any female readers or at least she thinks so. I started reading the post on the forumboard way before I got this name. So their could be female readers, its just they haven't introduce themselves yet because they haven't gotten a name for posting on forumboards or just don't want to.
I never knew that all the people posting so for are guys... well Calliope is a girl.
