Yeah, I come back to see if anyone's responded to my pathetic little whining, and I'm surprised to be greeted with an update!
This was very happy-making for me.
-Tom
I have comics uploaded through the 21st of August so far. I hope I can keep to that schedule. (And thank you vurra vurra much, dear, for volunteering to color! *grin*)
Also, if you've noticed on the main page, I currently have no (public) email. I have one private account (and not my school account, that is currently inactive, for those who know the address), but I don't want to mix up POCKET and spam and other junk in that. It'll be a while before I get this fixed.
And this semester, I'm only taking 14 credit hours. Six of which are...night classes. *sigh* Should be...interesting, to say the least.
Of course, given the way things are going, I am also going to look into schooling out West...the loneliness is hard to bear, at times. Maybe it'll get better as time goes by, I don't know.
------------------

Well, hey! Welcome back Cali. Nice to see that things are going okay with you, and that POCKET's back. Yay!
But no proclaiming from the rooftops this time. I just realised that I sometimes get a bit *too* enthusiastic about certain things, and people begin to worry that I'm obsessing.
Oh well, summer classes are almost over, and finals await. *sigh* Times are tough.

I use hotmail as a spam collector account, giving only people I really care to hear from my real address.
As for schooling out West... I want to start off by saying that I know you are an intelligent woman and that you will make the right decision. I'm just really thinking out loud here:
If you're sure you want to do that, then go for it. I'm not sure it will alleviate the loneliness except to put you and your boyfriend together (that's a BIG thing, I know -- if it weren't for Jen I don't know how I'd survive here in Nash Vegas). There are things to consider, like strength of the program at other schools, in-state vs. out-of-state tuition, and what have you.
I'm currently considering graduate school (and I know you're in a different situation, I'm just making conversation here). I'll be taking the GRE in October. I'd LOVE to go back to Cornell, but (a) I'd have to quit my job, (b) I couldn't afford it, and (c) I'd be away from Jen, which neither of us would be able to bear. So I'm looking at schools in the Boston area (plenty of those!). Then there's the full-time/part-time decision -- I can't afford full-time, and if I go part-time I'd have to reduce my job from a full-time job to a part-time job, halving my salary. UNH is attractive because I would get NH resident tuition -- but I'm not sure I like their computer science grad program as much as I like Boston University's or Northeastern's. It's a tough decision, but I have the rest of my life to make it.
I can't say much about how difficult it is to transfer credits, as I was at the same college for all 4 years of undergrad -- that's another consideration.
I wish you the best of luck, whatever you decide.
It's very nice to see that POCKET is finally back. Good things come to those who wait, huh?
-Tom

Well... If today's is Sam's, It's Much improved! (If not, then, you sell yourself short, milady.) I speculate that you did it in "Line art", and added shading and such via color layering? anyway, I congratulate you on expanding your studio... I wish I could obtain help on some of my stuff- I reek at word balloons, and the scans never seem to quite work out as well as the originals.
gah......
I've forgotten to upload it >.< And the confusion thickens...
As for "expanding my studio", I've had Photoshop since pre-registration for classes my freshman year. Early POCKET is B&W line art -- I may go back and freshen that up a little, if I get the time.
As for Sam's work, 's supposed to be the comic for last Thursday, 8/16. Sorry to confuse people.
And yes, scanning is vurra much a pain. Sometimes I need to go back to the PC, sometimes I gotta draw. Art is a vurra moody thing for me...
Then again, I'm just plain moody right now. (Five days of classes, and I'm already going batty...)
Here's a thought: Would a tutorial be a good idea? If for no other reason than to see how truly ODD my method of drawing is?

Well... I don't know how much it might help ME (I don't use photoshop, I use GIMP,"Hey, it's free...") Though it might be interesting to see how you work up the style and type of images you use.
The "Studio" reference has to do with your colorist/boyfriend. It DOES take a load off when one has a vict- I mean, test case, (damn, wrong phrase again) ASSISTANT to help out in certain aspects, as well as having somebody to take some of the workload off, which helps to prevent "Burnout".
