(giggles) Yay for the wussy-fight between Alucard and Anderson. He looks so peaceful in spite of the dream.

Hey, if Mary(etc.) was fused with the cake, does that mean every bit of her was fused with cakey goodness? That could explain why she seems hyped up on sugar. And for some reason, this reminds me of Tongue-Tongue from The Tick (y'know, the guy who was sad because he had but one tongue with which to taste the world?).

Bwah ha ha. And Laura perfects the "Sex Beam." I wonder if Sith are better at mental control than Alucard or Alucard just doesn't use that ability often (I think we've only seen him use it once on a single person and it took him some effort; Bubbancy was able to do it to the whole manor in a blink). This also brings up the question on whether vampires have different "ethnicities" which focus on different powers.

plus yeah i think that not every vampire has the same ability. would use would it be anyway?
its like sending every solder out there with the same bit of kit and training.
its the differance in kit and training that will make them affective in the long run as a group.
ok i am compairing it to a human army. but i think that it will be the same with vampires. they have there own way of doing things.
they have a set of generic power which are common to all vampires. but also they can here there own special ablility.
take Jean valentine and his brother for example. Jean was Fast as lightning. while his brother controled the undead troops.
i dont know if Jean has this same ablility as its a generic power. but at least he had his own special ability. or rather his own special way of fighting. running left and right to dodge the bullets.
so Alucard might also have the power to hypnotize others. but he might not use it as its not his style as you also have to take there character into account.
*scratches head*
did i get that right or am i missing something?
Twice in canon (that I can recall), both while he was down in South-America. Neither seemed to require any effort from him.Xuanwu wrote:I think we've only seen him use it once on a single person and it took him some effort

i bought the four DVD in a "christmas limited edition" and will receive them in the beginning of octoberwest_haven wrote:I would say try to order it from Bestbuy.com or try to get it from a place that you get anime DVDs. But for some reason, at Best Buy it says that it's a 4 DVD collection, when that's actually the 3 DVD thin pack set (which is what I got, and this is where I ordered it from).mrrout wrote:i'm interested in this animé
do you know where i could buy it?
they say it's inspired by "galaxy express" and i like it very much
thank you
I'm glad you want to watch this anime, because it's awesome but not a lot of people know it. I could upload this episode 0 (only 12 minutes long) if anyone is interested.
Edit: I uploaded it. Xp

Well played, sir.
I do think different types of vampire have different skill sets. "Laura" in the anime was not a fighter; one gunshot took her out. But she was a brilliant hypnotist, which goes along with the legends of the baobhan sith. It's certainly true as far as Shine is concerned.

Is it bad that I'm equal-parts relieved and disappointed at this? Because as much as I love Pip, he had such an awesome death-scene...Xuanwu wrote:I believe Erin's said that Pip won't die in Shine come THE PLOT time
And technically, Rip Van does join Hellsing, at least going by the events in volume 8.... >.>
What I mean is relative to Laura. Laura did it with the snap of a finger. The first time Alucard does it, there's a noticeable delay between when he turns on his power and when the bellhop obeys. Likewise, the soldier had to make eye contact with him to be mesmerized. Laura was able to trick Walter without even seeing him (otherwise he would never have let her in, since he would have known otherwise that Integra has no sister).Mavado wrote:Twice in canon (that I can recall), both while he was down in South-America. So I think, in terms of hypnosis, Bubbancy is more powerful than Alucard.

I disagree. I think Alucard prefers not to use his mind control, much like he prefers not to use ghouls. He will when he has too, but he prefers to watch people struggle.Xuanwu wrote:So I think, in terms of hypnosis, Bubbancy is more powerful than Alucard.
As soon as Alucard showed up at the Hellsing House, Laura's hypnosis powers disappeared. We also don't know how long she prepared to hypnotise them before she arrived.
Alucard has to be more powerful in the hypnosis department, although I don't doubt that powers vary from vampire to vampire in Hellsing cannon. He loves to invade Integra's thoughts. It's just not in his character to go around mind-beaming people, because to him it's not about winning, it's about fighting.
EDIT: You know, it's about time Integra stopped buying all of those overpriced cigars and invested in a good Vampire Alarm System for HQ.
